Love and Royalty (5)

2 weeks has passed. Within those 2 weeks I have kept me distance from James, enough distance for us NOT to risk temptation. The council has told Jason and I, that we should start acting like a couple, and I know I can’t complain or refuse, so I don’t.

So Jason had to move in my room, even though we sleep together we don’t touch. We hold hands in public once or twice, hug, kiss on cheek (NO MOUTH TO MOUTH ACTION) so we could be convincing to the council.
Jason has been very kind and caring; he never forces me to do something I’m not comfortable with. Jason never get’s me mad and it’s not that I could kill him with my vampire strength, but it’s because he’s nice and cares, I’ve known him since I was 11.

Even though I don’t want to be forced to get married I was actually looking forward to my marriage. Our marriage is in one and a half weeks, even if I get married with Jason I still have to wait until I turn 21 for me to become queen, marriage is just the obstacle the council wants me to confront before it turns into a bigger obstacle.
Anyways…..

It was 5 in the morning, still dark outside. I laid on my bed with Jason sleeping beside me he was under the covers shirtless. While I laid on my bed, I looked at the engagement ring Jason gave me last week; it’s silver with a 14 carrot diamond in the middle and little diamonds beside both sides.
I kept thinking how my marriage with Jason could turn out; maybe I’ll fall madly in love with him. I thought about James what I should do with him. I thought to myself about forgetting him so I won’t hurt him more and I won’t get hurt anymore.

I looked at Jason sleeping beside me, I move and put my elbow on my pillow and put my head’s weight on my arm. I stared at Jason; his eyelids covered his beautiful blue eyes, and his brown straight hair was messy but still looking good. His arms are well built with muscles, but he’s not freakishly muscular, he’s just right.
I actually don’t know why I’m thinking of Jason this way, not in a friend way but in a interested (like interested in him) way.
I came to realize that during the 2 weeks that I have spent with Jason, I have noticed an emotional change, I can’t really identify if its love or just friendly, but it’s a really strong feeling.
While I looked at Jason I brushed Jason’s hair and caressed the dimples on his cheeks. He opened his eyes and I pulled my hand away slowly and all I did is smile at him, and he smiled back.
"What time is it?" Jason asks me.

"Its 5:15… sorry I didn’t mean to wake you up, you should go back to sleep"

"Don’t worry, and ill go back to sleep if you go back to sleep"

All I could say was "Ok"
Jason sits up and kisses me on the cheek and heads back to sleep. I turn red and touch the place he kissed me on, it’s warm. I turn and adjust my pillow and fall back asleep.

I woke up, it felt like I only slept for 3 minute, but I actually slept for 4 hours, so if you do the math, it’s 9 o’clock in the morning. I opened my eyes and stayed still for 3 seconds, and then I moved my head slowly to look at my waist.
I saw and felt Jason’s arm lying across my waist and his head was buried in my hair, I could feel his breath on my neck and I felt oddly comfortable and warm. I could lie in this position forever, but I had to get up and see if the council replied to my letter.

In time (1889), the mail for humans takes around 3 to 5 days, but for vampires it takes 1 day. We have super speed, so they get the letter a couple of hours after you send it.

Well I got up slowly, not to wake Jason up.
I got up and stretched, got my robe.
I leaned down and kissed Jason, I think Jason noticed because he opened his eyes then closed them, to fall back asleep. My body did that on its own, I went to my office trying to avoid a bump into James. When I got there I asked the guard on the door if I got any mail, he gave me a letter from the council, it said:

Dear Princess Alexandra,

We are glad that you chose to agree and go on with this marriage.
We forgot to inform you that after you marry, you would have to have a child to become heir to your crown, in case something happens to you.
The bright side is that you could have the child what ever time you want, but we advise you to have the child as soon as you can. This decision is to ensure your crown. So if you die then the crown would not move from your blood line to the back –up blood line, which is another royal family of vampires.
We wish you a happy wedding day, November 1, 1889. We will attend and we will marry Jason and you, we have already made the wedding invitations and we sent them to Royal Families of Pixies, Werewolves, elves, ect., and we also invited your close friends.
We have already chosen bridesmaids and the best man will be James because Blake is the guy that will be walking you down the isle. Thank You for your cooperation.

I know I have to go along with this arrangement because I can’t complain. So I have to treat it like my dream wedding. I went in my office and sat down on the chair.
So I replied to that letter and i said:

Dear Council,

I will try my best to have a child after my marriage, but I won’t make any promises. I would first have to get use to the marriage then Jason and i could discuss about havgina baby. Also, I would grateful if you marry us, and thank you for sending the invitation and picking the bridesmaids and the best man.

I put it in an envelope and sealed it with red hot wax and the royal stamp. I gave It to the guard outside and he went off to send it. Even though I rule, the council is the only people that command me, other than them I rule everyone and everything.
Hopefully I'm happy with my engagement with Jason.
