Lost Under The Sun

We all look for something in this life but in the end…the cemetery is waiting for us. Can we change that? We can’t but God can, He actually did! He offers life in Jesus Christ His Son! Grab life!
As we go through this life sometimes we will come upon a person that just does not seem to know where he is going, he seems confused and does not know which direction to take…this kind of person can be described as being "lost". He is in this big world and instead of reaching out and grabbing the opportunities that come his way he just floats on by and in the end he wakes up to realize that there was so much that he could have done with his life, so much that he could have accomplished; but it is all gone for him now, there are no more opportunities to grab on to, there is not even one chance of his making something out of himself. You might say that he had finally found himself just a little too late.

The thing is we are all like that little man that wonders through life with no purpose, the Bible tells us that we all are like sheep that have gone astray. When Adam and Eve took of the forbidden fruit all of humanity was doomed to be lost in a world that had been created for them; all of humanity was doomed from that moment on to a life of separation from God our Creator.

If we look in Genesis 2:17 we read: "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die."

As we can see, God was giving Adam a very clear warning concerning that tree, if he eats of the tree he will die, but only physically, Adam would die spiritually as well. The connection that existed between Adam and his Creator would be severed, the life that comes from the Creator would be cut off and all of humanity would be doomed to live life, knowing that there must be a God up there, but at the same time they would be lost, they would have no connection with the Father, they would have no life from the Father. Adam doomed us all to a life of aimless wondering around on this earth; no hope, no future, caught up in the death trap of our sinful natures.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Everybody knows of the death that this Bible verse is talking about, even though there are some people that claim they do not believe in such things, deep down inside every man knows (even if he won’t admit it) about hell. Every man is a sinner, we are born that way, thanks to Adam and Eve (and the Snake) there is no escaping the fires of hell through earthly means. Many have tried, some have said that there is nothing after death, others have claimed that every man is his own little god…there are many different stories and such trying to get out from under the fact that every man is doomed to spend eternity in the fires of hell.

But God knew that this was going to happen and right around two thousand years ago He gave us a solution to this problem that we have, read the Bible verse that I provided above. "The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." There is another Bible verse that says that death came into the world by the disobedience of one man but also by one man’s obedience came life.

Christ came to this earth and gave Himself up as a sacrifice for the sins that we have, He took those sins upon Himself and died in our place.

Do you know why? So that the connection, between God and man, that was ripped apart by Adam could be reformed. Our aimless little souls hanging out here on earth could finally have a purpose in life, we finally have an opportunity that is coming our way, all we have to do is take it, all we have to do is accept the gift that God is offering us, not only will you finally have purpose here on earth, but you’ll get eternal life and a direct connection with the Creator of the universe. How great can it get!

Don’t be that lost little man that wakes up when it is too late! All you have to do is pray and accept what Christ did for you. It is as simple as that.
