Lost Kingdom - Part Two - Chapter 2
Someone visits Kylee and gives her troubling news and plenty of things to think about.
Chapter 2
Kylee awoke abruptly at the remembrance of the strange dream she had, had. Aaron for some reason in the dream was keeping something from her. Something important. Although she knew he would never do that to her. He loved her and certainly would tell her everything.
Kylee slowly opened her eyes looking at the room before her. It was beautiful. It had a large blazing fireplace on the corner of the room, heavy golden drapes with silk red sashes to hold them open, and large wooden dresser with gorgeous gold carvings along the sides. It seemed cozy and perfect. So perfect in fact that she had to see the rest of this place.
She quickly but quietly got out of the large bed and tiptoed over to the enormous mahogany doors, opened them and swiftly made her way out in the hallway.
"Going somewhere my dear?" A voice said closely behind her.
Kylee turned around slowly amazed to see a shimmering figure gliding towards her. She stared in awe at the sight before her. It was so unreal, she couldn't believe her own eyes.
"Who are you?" She asked hesitantly.
The shimmery figure kept gliding towards her, now getting very close until it stopped in front of her. Kylee looked at the figure trying to see through the haze of it appearance, but could make no recollection of who or what the figure was. She was so entranced at the mysterious figure in front of her that she that she leaned in closer trying to unravel its appearance, but jolted up when suddenly answered her question.
"My name is of no importance my dear Kylee. I am here to warn you of your lover Aaron."
Kylee looked at it quizzically, not quiet understanding what he meant.
"What do you mean?" She asked cautiously.
The figures hazy appearance stopped and stilled. It seemed to be thinking of what to say.
The figure sighed and answered, "He is not whom he seems to be. He is not your lover. He is an imposer."
Kylee looked at the figure and laughed.
"What do you mean imposer? He hasn't tried to kill me like Gavin did. He hasn't used me, and he has been honest with me!" She responded.
The figures haze cleared up a little to where she could vaguely make out a scowl. She began to look closer but the haze suddenly was back as strong as ever.
"What I mean Kylee, is that he is playing you. He is pretending to be someone else he knows, of who you know as well. He is using you and you must be careful of what he asks of you. You must try to understand who he really is inside and who he is posing as."
A chill ran through Kylee's spine as images slowly began to form. She could barely make them out. They were fuzzy and unclear.
"That's right my dear, remember." The figure said.
Kylee began to try to unravel them as if in a trance unable to do anything else. She saw Aaron and someone else... someone she DID in fact know. She collected different pieces. A man, tall, slender, dark brown hair, blue eyes. He knew Aaron, was close to him. Kylee began to think harder trying to get a name.
"You've almost got it!! Keep trying!!" The figure said enthusiastically.
Kyle dug deeper, and deeper until she almost had it.
"Kylee?? What are you doing out in the hallway." Aaron called from the hallway, as she lost her train of thought.
She turned around and smiled a shaky smile.
"Hey, I was talking to this...." She said as she trailed off noticing there was nothing in front of her.
"What is it my dear?" Aaron asked as he wrapped his arms around her.
Kylee hugged him back afraid of what had just happened. What if Aaron was really an imposer? What if he really was playing her?
"Kylee? What is wrong my love?" He asked in worry.
She patted his back and put her arms around him. She would solve this mystery. She would even if it cost her everything.
She pulled back, smiled, and then responded, "Nothing wrong. I just thought I saw something. No need to worry. I think I need more sleep."
