Lost in Life

Lost in life, in an attempt at success
Total confusion with every breath
Living in an up can be mesmerizing.

While living through a down horrifying
Time waits for nobody and doesn't slow
My heart still beats as my blood flows.

We all choose a path, mine was misery
Since that choice everything else is history
Mind throbbing with doubt, numb with pain.

That choice long ago, left me filled with shame
If I am so happy, and destined to great things
Then why is pain, what my higher power brings.
