The Loss

I never felt the loss as much
Until you weren't there to share it
But how could you share, when you were the cause
Nothing before could compare with this

I've spent so much time being lost in my mind
Trying so hard to forget you
But you never predicted, the pain you inflicted
Would leave mental scars, thoughts of black and blue

You didn't think I could be on the brink
Of losing my mind completely
And all because you chose to shut off to
My feelings you tied up so neatly

I said my goodbye, I won't start to cry
I can't move on or go back its all hurting
I can't face this loss and at my own cost
I can't come to terms with our parting
