Losing Weight With Small Changes

Besides the big things that people do to lose weight, there are many little things that you can do to help in losing weight. You can even add grapefruits to your diet to become thinner.
Changes like going on a diet and exercising are big changes that take a lot of effort. There are small changes that you can make that can help a lot in your efforts to lose weight. One little change you can make is to add grapefruits to your diet. They contain an enzyme that helps in losing weight. The red or pink grapefruit contains lycopene that helps to prevents cancer, heart attacks and strokes.

Whole Grains

Another little change that you can make to help in losing weight is to eat pasta instead of pasta. Since eating pasta is fattening, you eat pasta that is not fattening. That is not a big change, is it, eating pasta instead of pasta? Well you will have to buy it in a health food store instead of in a fat and sick food store. Wheat, refined wheat, semolina wheat and durum wheat are not whole grains and are fattening. So instead you get pasta made of whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat with spinach, buckwheat pasta, kamut or buckwheat pasta that help in losing weight.

Sushi

Another small change you can make to eat sushi instead of sushi to lose weight. Sushi is not raw fish. It is a way of presenting food. Rice means by default white rice. It is not a whole grain. Just like refined wheat, it is fattening and bad for health. Both of these cause constipation and cause you to hold on to extra waste. That is not the case with the whole grain version that is whole wheat and brown rice or brown wheat and whole rice. So get the sushi made with brown rice to help in losing weight. If they do not have it, tell them why you are going to get it elsewhere.

A Japanese/Chinese restaurant near me says that 50% of the people that come in, ask for brown rice. Make sure to use plenty of wasabi that is good health and helps you to lose weight. Then instead of fish, that has no fiber, get vegetable brown rice sushi. It has in it avocado, cucumbers and celery. These are healthy and help you in losing weight. What makes it really great to eat, is the wasabi. A lot of this can really clear the sinuses.

Green Tea

Another change you can make in helping you in losing weight is to drink decaffeinated green tea instead of water. The people in China are thin and they do not drink water. They drink tea. In American restaurants, they give you water for free. In Chinese restaurants they give you tea for free.

Green tea contains the anti-oxidant EGCG that boosts metabolism which helps you to lose weight. The green tea has other things in it that help prevent cancer and causes other health benefits. I like the taste of the mint decaf green tea (made by Celestial Seasonings) better so I drink that. Mint has health benefits including better digestion.

Kelp Instead of Salt

The seaweed in sushi has more trace minerals than land plants including iodine that is good for the thyroid gland. It is great for health and losing weight. Instead of adding salt to foods, add granulated kelp. It is a sea vegetable (seaweed) and is high in trace minerals and iodine. Kelp is even sold in a supplement for losing weight. It is naturally salty since it comes from the sea. But it is a food unlike salt. It contains organic salt instead of inorganic salt. This is like getting organic iron from spinach instead of getting inorganic iron from an iron nail.

It has a lot less sodium than salt. Salt increases appetite causing you to eat more. The body has to keep a certain concentration of sodium in the blood. The body uses this to determine if it needs more water or less water. So the more sodium that you bring into the body, the more water it needs to retain. This makes you appear fatter and be heavier. Unlike salt it contains fiber. Fiber makes you feel fuller but does not give you any calories since it is indigestible. So it helps in losing weight.

The fiber in kelp is also sold as a supplement since it is good at absorbing toxic metals from the body. The longest living people in the world are the Okinawans and Japanese. Okinawa is an island off the coast of Japan. Very few of them are overweight. They eat a lot of seaweed or sea vegetables (same thing but the latter sounds better). This is a small change but makes a big difference in losing weight and health.

Sleep

To help lose weight and be healthier mentally and physically, make sure to get plenty of sleep. Your body and mind function at its best when you are not sleep deprived. Most Americans have trouble sleeping, do not get enough sleep and are also overweight. All of the above methods for losing weight are also good for your health. Do not cut calories, carbs or fats since this can cause many problems including sleep difficulties and depression.
