Losing Weight the Old Fashioned Way
Dieting is not the answer to losing weight. There is another important factor to losing weight called, "exercise."
I’m going to tell you something you aren’t going to like. Dieting by itself is not the answer to losing weight. A couple hundred years ago, everyone was doing a lot of manual labor. During that time they didn’t have these massive percentages of obesity that we see today. So it’s simple to say that your body needs exercise.
Once we reach our mid 20’s, our bodies have a natural tendency to gain weight. The next time you’re at the mall have a look around. You will notice most of that weight ends up around the mid section. If you are determined to overcome our biology then it is important to exercise.
Think about the people who live on farms. They don’t have a lot extra luxuries that you and I do. Their daily routines usually include a lot manual activities that work out the body. Most people who live in the city areas don’t get nearly the same amount of exercise that farmers do.
Often we associate people who are thin, with health. In fact, it is extremely important for everyone to exercise whether they are 10 pounds underweight or 80 pounds overweight.
It’s important to understand that exercise doesn’t mean going to the gym and slamming weights everyday of the week. Most people don’t have the time or motivation to go there and rough it out. Let’s look at a more realistic option.
If you can afford the costs of a home gym then it may be a great investment for you. However, body weight exercises such as pushups, walking, jogging, and swimming are other great ways to lose weight. The most important thing is to keep at it every week.
Losing weight isn’t rocket science but you have to be willing to get serious and keep it consistent to see the results you want. It’s your life, so take control of it.
