The latest fashion accessory is flip-flops that neither flip, nor flop. What’s more, they are topless. How’s that for a come on?

The topless flip-flop is a sandal with no straps or apparent way of staying on your foot.
The secret is water-based glue that keeps the foamy sole in place, but does not come off on skin. You just step on them and they stay on your feet. No straps to leave ugly tan lines; and girls can step into them straight after a pedicure, without worrying about their nail polish getting messed up. Plus, there is the novelty factor. If you wear them on the street, virtually everyone turns round and stares: which feels great because, let’s face it, deep down, we are all exhibitionists.

The flip-flops come in five designs, including beach, rainforest and aloha sunset, cost $25 each; and are available in large, medium and small sizes. Like so many fashion statements these days, their inventor is an American, but they are manufactured in China. They have already proved a hit in Australia and Canada, where thousands of pairs have been sold. The USA is the next frontier waiting to be conquered.
