Lonely Tear

You're a sensation inside me,
Like a poison through my veins.
You're a woeful sigh deep within my lungs,
A simple, lonely tear
Waiting for its turn to fall.
I lie beside my window,
Anticipating your arrival,
Waiting anxiously to see you,
To hold you in my arms.
How can I pull you from beneath my skin?
A place where you took over
And claimed yours.
How can I escape this uprising feeling
That slowly tears the scraps that were left
From the first time I was torn.
