Living in The Box

I love life. What's not to love? Yes we live in a country that puts capitalism before humanity itself, and yes most of us work jobs we hate and live in a box, but I am leaving the box. The box holds us in confinement and a constant state of fiscal prostitution. We are all whores to "the Man" to a certain extent. We all work for someone else, except for a select and fortunate few. How do you know if you are a working whore? Just look at the signature on your next paycheck, is it your name? Probably not. Therefore, you are a working whore. You sell your body, your mind, and your time to your company in return for a paycheck necessary for survival. It is a constant cycle in which we as humans cannot seem to break free. Our nation was founded upon entrepreneurship, the idea that any man, or woman, can start their own business and perfect their own trade to make a living for themselves. The idea of answering to yourself, the idea of taking care of yourself, it is what this once great nation was founded upon. The idea that anyone can find their own individual way, yet come together at the end of the day in the name of our union and way of life. Freedom. The box, just like Pink Floyd's Wall, confines you. It holds you back from truly living life. Maybe you're married, you have kids, and your weekend's greatest moment consisted of picking out paint at the local Home Depot. Or maybe you're a college dropout, stuck in a shitty job making shitty wages and you're still old enough to know what life is all about, yet you're still young enough to do something about your current and future state of affairs. Whoever you are, don't let it slip away. Hang on. Make life what you want it to be. Do you have a dream? Live it. Make it happen. Go out there and grab the opportunity by the ear and pull it in the desired direction. Spank opportunity, make it your bitch. You only live once, break the box.
