Living A Lie

It is about putting on a smile even if you’re unhappy…
Introductions and hosted parties,
Your face is aching from the permanent fake smile
"Oh, yes, we are so happy that you came..."
You know you will stand near him and flash the
Giant ring on your left hand.
But it is all a lie, for when the last snobby nose
Women grabs her jacket and walks out the door,
The smile will fade, he will go grab
A beer and sit to watch TV.
While you go and sit on your bed
Replaying your life you used to have
Walks on the beach, kisses on the forehead
Being pleasured in the lobby,
Awaiting your room,
Sitting on the bed I can pretend that I’m not living a lie.
