Chapter 15
(Last Chapter!!!)
Julie’s POV (A few weeks later)
I walked into my bedroom and flopped onto my bed. Sam had gone back to the elf world to help build it back up. There were only twenty elves left that they knew of, but they all hoped that it would be enough to keep the elf world going. It would take years of hard work to get it going. Everything was finally starting to sort of go back to normal.
I pulled a light blanket over me and curled up in a ball. I was tired, but not tired enough to go to bed and I didn’t feel like getting my pajamas on. I laid on the bed, half awake, half asleep until I heard someone knock on my door. "Come in." I said, thinking it was my dad. I kept my eyes closed and I heard the door open and shut. I realized it wasn’t my dad when I felt them climb onto the bed next to me. "Who is it?" I asked, turning around lazily, but slightly worried. I sighed in relief when I saw Karl.
"It’s just me." He whispered kissing my nose.
"Thank god." I giggled and kissed him. He smiled underneath my lips and kissed me back. I pulled back, teasing him. He frowned slightly and I rolled out of the bed. He sat up, pouting. I smiled a little and walked over to him. I leaned down and when our lips were just centimeters away, I backed up again laughing. He pouted again and got off the bed. I ran out the door. He chased me and I ran out of the house. We sprinted out back, down a small trail, towards a lake. He caught me before I got very far. He lifted me up and spun me around. But he tripped on something and we fell into the water. Laughing and coughing we surfaced and swam out deeper until we couldn’t touch the ground anymore.
"I have something to give you." He said suddenly, swimming back towards the shore. I followed and we walked out of the water. He took off his shirt and squeezed out the water. "Come on." He took my hand and led me back to the house. "I left it in your room when you ran out." He smiled.
We went into the house and into the bedroom. "Let me change first. I’m soaked." I reminded him. He nodded and left. I quickly changed into a plain white t-shirt and a pair of slightly worn out jeans. I let him back into my room and we sat on my floor. He was still soaked but he said he didn’t mind. He reached under my pillow and pulled out two black boxes, one smaller than the other. He opened the bigger one first, showing a small gold heart on a gold chain. "This is to show you how much I love you." He took the necklace out of the box carefully and put it on me. "And this-" He opened the smaller box, showing a gorgeous silver ring with three small diamonds on it. "Is a promise ring. I know we’re too young to get married, but I want you to have something to always remember me. I love you so much and I want you to know that your mine. Forever."
I was almost speechless as he slid the ring onto my finger and looked up at me. "Karl I love you so so so much. There’s no way I could ever forget that but thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this. It means a lot to me. I love you!" I hugged him and then kissed him. I heard rain on the roof and it made everything seem more romantic as we kissed. He pulled me onto his lap and I wrapped my legs around him. His arms snaked around my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling myself close to him. "I love you." I moaned between kisses. He just pulled me even closer, holding me tightly against him.
"I love you too." He said, when we were both breathless. "And I’m so glad that our little secrets brought us closer together. I’ll love you forever."
"I’ll always love you too." I said back. "And I’m glad that our secrets brought us close together too." I hugged him and kissed his cheek. "I love you Karl Bennett. I love you."
"I love you too." He whispered, before brushing his lips on mine again.
