Sean Connery played the first James Bond on-screen and he had and still is unmatched in his acting skills as the most debonaire and stylish James Bond ever. The movie had a catchy audio brand created by Monty Norman and performed by John Barry. The best James Bond movie ever is undoubtedly From Russia With Love. It had all the ingredients of a great film, the locations, cast and a storyline that was in line with the book. The obscured face of the villain, who was identified only by his white cat, made an impact on the minds of the audience.
The Goldfinger was another storyline close to the novel, but it was Thunderball that stole the show. The introduction of unbelievable gadgets made James Bond look more unrealistic, but Her Majesty's Secret Service, came out with a more believable storyline, as it remained hooked to the novel. But, the movie did not do well as audience wanted more of Sean Connery and not George Lazenby. This made the producers bring back Sean Connery with You Only Live Twice - Diamonds Are Forever. It had more of everything, gadgets, actions, bigger sets and Sean Connery.
Roger Moore took over Sean Connery, but James Bond movies were plagued by the under developed scripts throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Pierce Brosnan stepped into the shoes of Roger Moore and played James Bond in 4 movies. After his last movie, Daniel Crag, replaced Brosnan as James Bond in October 2005.
