Lindsay Lohan Turns Down Dancing With The Stars

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to appear on the upcoming season of DWTS because she "doesn’t want to do reality TV".
TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan was offered somewhere in the neighborhood of $550,000 to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars - and she decided to turn it down. Many are questioning that decision, given that Lindsay recently had all of her assets frozen by the IRS for delinquent taxes. She reportedly owes Uncle Sam something in the neighborhood of $250,000 in back taxes. So the DWTS gig seems like it would have made quite a bit of sense for the troubled starlet.

But perhaps even Lindsay knows now that she couldn’t hold it together for any portion of a season on DWTS. The contestants on that show are required to work pretty hard, training, learning difficult dance routines. And all of it is on camera. That would be an absolute disaster for Lohan, which is obviously why DWTS wants her so badly. Lohan would drive the ratings through the roof simply because of her trainwreck appeal. People would giddily tune in to the show just to watch her flail around the set and the training studios for an episode or two.

Lohan’s explanation for turning down the reality show opportunity was that she wanted to continue concentrating on making films. And while that would make sense for most young actresses, Lindsay may have to come to terms with the fact that shows like DWTS are simply the only opportunities she has left at a career. It’s safe to assume that she has permanently burned most of the bridges in Hollywood, and whatever’s left of her brain is probably not going to be capable of recapturing the charm and budding acting talent of her pre-meltdown glory days. Lindsay would be well-served to take a spin on Dancing With The Stars, pay off the government and use whatever money’s left to seek intensive counseling and drug rehabilitation.
