Lindsay Lohan Sued by Pedestrian She Allegedly Struck While Driving

A lawsuit has been filed in California by a woman who claims that Lindsay Lohan ran a red light and struck her and the stroller she was pushing through an intersection.
The good news for Lindsay Lohan - and for everyone involved in the alleged incident - is that the baby in the stroller was not hurt. However, Nubia Del Carmen Plaza, a working nanny at the time of the incident, claims to have suffered serious physical and emotional trauma and has been unable to work. It's very important to note, however, that the incident occurred well over a year ago, in September of 2010. The accuser is seeking damages from Lohan to cover her medical expenses and lost wages.

It's impossible to speculate on the legitimacy of Ms. Plaza's lawsuit, but it would be fair to question why one would wait nearly 17 months to file a lawsuit if injuries were sustained. There were several witnesses to the incident who confirmed that three wheels of the stroller Ms. Plaza was pushing came off the ground as a result of the incident, but it's unclear whether those witnesses believe that she suffered any injuries.

It may not be a coincidence that Lindsay is getting hit with a lawsuit at around the same time that she seems to be staying out of trouble long enough to make a little money. After recently appearing in Playboy, Lohan seems to be putting more effort into complying with the terms of her long-running probation. It remains to be seen whether Lindsay has really started to clean up her act, but the fact that she's not making news for recent indiscretions seems like a positive sign.

Lohan's attorneys have pointed out that neither the actress nor her representatives have been served with notification of the lawsuit, so they have no official comment at this time.
