Lindsay Lohan appears to be in serious trouble. Outside the fact that she is on extremely thin ice from a legal perspective, it seems that the troubled starlet is only getting worse. In her most recent court appearance on Monday, Lohan entered a guilty plea in connection with a reckless driving charge that was in violation of the terms of her probation. In addition to the 90 day rehab sentence, the judge also sentenced Lindsay to 30 days of community labor and 18 months of psychological therapy. But even in the face of serious legal difficulties, Lohan continued to demonstrate that she is completely detached from reality.
She arrived over 45 minutes late for her scheduled court appearance, after missing her flight from L.A. to New York on Sunday night. At the last moment, she was able to get a ride on a private jet owned by the CEO of an energy drink company. And Lindsay took to Twitter to thank the ever-generous, "Mr. Pink." It’s unclear at this point exactly when Lindsay will have to report to her rehab stint - and whether the sentence will be carried out in New York or California. What is clear, however, is that in-patient rehabilitation may be the only shot remaining for Lohan to regain control of her life.
In the face of constant public humiliation and mounting legal and financial problems, Lohan only seems to care less and less about the consequences of her actions. She has become the quintessential Hollywood train wreck and it's getting hard to imagine her surviving for another 5 years. And while her death would be lamented as tragic and avoidable, it doesn’t appear that anyone is able to reach her in a meaningful way to ensure that she gets the help she requires.
