Lindsay Lohan Extends Rehab Stay

Lohan’s mother, Dina, said Monday that Lindsay has been "doing great" during her stay at the Promises Treatment Facility. Lohan was originally scheduled to be released from the program next week, but has reportedly postponed her release date. Dina said, "She’s going to do Promises’ extended care program." The program reportedly helps people "make the transition from residential alcohol or drug rehab treatment back into their community." The program reportedly includes group therapy as well as a 12-step program.

Ty Dux, Dina’s publicist/security guard reportedly said, "Lindsay is looking to rebound even better. She wants to prove to everybody that she means it." Mama Lohan did say that the Lohan clan was going to be joining Lindsay in California for her 21st birthday. No word on where the celebration will be held, although it will not be at the Promises Facility and it will not include alcohol. A far cry from the big 2-day birthday bash Lohan was originally planning for her big day. The bash was to have taken place at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas, but Lohan reportedly cancelled the event a few weeks ago. Maybe she is serious about getting her life together…this time.

This marks the second time this year that the 20-year old has entered a treatment facility. In January, Lohan entered the Wonderland Treatment Facility but approached recovery with a laissez fair attitude. As soon as she was released she was back to her old habits, but her life spun out of control after a wild Memorial Day weekend spent partying and ending with an arrest for DUI after crashing her car. Officers also reported finding a substance that was rumored to be cocaine at the scene. She was also photographed looking passed out and looking lifeless in the passenger seat of her car. She later checked into Promises.
