Lohan arrived at the Beverly Hills Police Department on Thursday afternoon to be officially booked on the DUI and hit and run charges because she was not formally charged at the time of the actual incident. Lohan arrived at the station around 4 p.m. with her attorney. She posted $30,000 bail and was released about an hour later on her own recognizance. Lohan is set to be arraigned on August 24.
The charges stem from a wild Memorial Day weekend. Lohan crashed her car in the early morning hours of May 26 after a night of clubbing. She was reportedly driving down Sunset Boulevard with two passengers, lost control of her car, and crashed into some trees. When police reported to the scene Lohan, her passengers, and her car were gone. Lohan was later tracked down at a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and her totaled car was found in a parking lot near the scene of the crash. It was later reported that her blood-alcohol level was double the legal limit and she allegedly had cocaine in her system at the time of the crash.
Lohan checked into Promises Treatment Facility two days later. She was reportedly battling an alcohol addiction as well as addictions to numerous drugs including OxyContin and cocaine. She completed a 30 day stint in rehab and opted to stay for the 15-day extended care program. She checked out of the facility on Friday, July 13. She immediately hightailed it to Vegas to party and has been spotted out almost every night since. She is currently wearing an alcohol-monitoring device to monitor whether or not she is up to her old tricks.
