Limiting God

Believing that God can do everything is good, but when it comes to your problem you just can’t seem to believe that He will do something about it. Did it happen to you? See more! It is somehow easier to believe that God will do this and that for others but when it is your case, somehow the belief diminishes, why is that?
There are some general lines as well as particular situations of course but I would like to bring forth the main: what we sow is what we harvest or in other words we have to resist the devil so that he would flee from us.

Where’s the resemblance here? If we take a closer look, when we let devil’s seeds of doubt, (worry, anger or whatever it might be) germinate and develop in our hearts, well, then no wonder the harvest will bring forth those bitter fruits. "He who sows wickedness reaps trouble" Proverbs 22:8

We have to be aware that we have an enemy! We do live in a corrupt world, I think I don’t have to prove that, we all can see it if we open our eyes. Consequently when you want to believe God’s word but Satan comes to fight against you- trying to steal the good seed that has been put inside of you or trying to put doubt and unbelief in your heart- you have to resist him!

The Bible says: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

Yes resisting the devil but not alone, not trough your own strength but trough God’s. To resist the evil one we first have to submit ourselves to God.
I will show here a few lines on the definition of the word "submit": (1) refer for judgment or consideration, (2) put before, (3) yield to the control of another. When you consider only these three aspects it is so clear that all we are concerned with has to be brought before God letting Him take it into consideration, put those things/situations before Him and we yield ourselves and the situation to the control of God. Oh, that is peaceful! That will surely keep you at rest regardless of your situation.

We have to do just like this verse says: "Cast all your anxiety on HIM because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

What God speaks is absolute truth, is life and power, health to the body and light to the eyes that’s why we are not to take God’s word lightly. If He says so, it means it is so. God told us that we are in a battle, we are at war! That’s why wearing the spiritual armor is a must when fighting against our enemy!

The very Word of God, the Bible is a powerful weapon but not when we keep it on the shelf or on the coffee table. Those words inside it have to penetrate into our mind and have to be understood, meditated upon and applied every time the circumstance appears. Keeping our mind set on the things above which are eternal and not on the things of this earth which will pass will continue this process of renewing our minds and will make us submit to God more and more thus resisting the devil and this way, the evil one will flee from us.
All people are subject to failure and when you see failure coming your way, believe what God has to say about your situation (from the Bible, His Word) and do not accept what people (or the evil one) speak. To resist the devil means to actively fight against what he says using Scripture, God’s word as a weapon.

Are you questioning your salvation? Can’t you believe God forgave you? Can’t you believe God loves you? Is your financial situation a ruin? Is your personal life a mess? Find all the Bible verses that speak about these themes and believe them! Let God nurture your mind and heart and you’ll see change, you’ll be victorious and God will make you usable for His Kingdom.
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to HIM eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To HIM be the power for ever and ever. Amen."1 Petru 5:7-11
