Lilly Hamilton & Her Love for Officer Jay [Chapter Three]
I apologize for the long delay. I have been really busy and tired for the last few months. I hope you like this new chapter. It's shorter and I plan to put up chapter four within the next couple of days. Thank you Simmi for the encouraging words!
It had almost been 5 hours since I had last seen Sarah's saddened face as she was pulled out of the car by one of the three men. I couldn't help but to replay the scene over and over again in my head, hoping to remember something important so I could tell Officer Jay.
"Harry 11, 68 to COM," I heard him say into the radio.
"Go ahead Harry 68."
"COM, we have a 207 and 10-57 on Randolph Avenue."
"10-4... 10-45?"
"10-45A..."
"10-4. 68 will you be 10-19 soon?"
"COM, that's a negative. 10-49 Randolph Avenue."
"10-4. Units are responding."
Officer Jay looked up at me and smiled as he turned towards his computer and began typing. I couldn't believe the events that had happened to me in the past couple of weeks. My father had been brutally murdered and my step-mother had been kidnapped on the way to my father's funeral.
"Jay! What are we going to do about my father?" I frantically asked. The funeral was supposed to take place hours ago.
"Lilly, don't worry. He has been moved down to the morgue where he will stay until everything is figured out. It's okay."
"I want to see him!" I screamed, as visions of him flooded my every thought.
"Lilly you can't see him right now... I'm sorry," he stated as he tried to restrain me from leaving out the door. The words hit me hard, my body giving out and for the millionth time in two weeks I collapsed.

I awoke to sun's rays glinting in from the curtains on the window. Where was I? I thought, getting out of the bed. On the nightstand was a vase of daisies, a glass of water and a note. I quickly grabbed the envelope and opened it.
Lilly,
I awoke this morning expecting you to be up but when I checked in on you, you were sleeping peacefully. I have left Maria, the maid, in your hands. She will cook anything you want to eat and when you are ready to head down to the station give me a call. I will then have Jeff, the chauffeur, give you a ride to the police department. Sleep as long as you like.
-Jay
I smiled as I folded the letter. As I drank the water, I casually looked around the room noticing the outfit neatly resting on the chair. It was a soft yellow shirt with stonewashed jeans, my favorite color. I retreated down the stairs, carrying the glass in my hands. The entryway was lightly lit, the curtains covering the windows, as I continued to look around. I jumped as a loud bang rang out down the hallway. I began to carefully walk towards it when a small voice echoed from behind me.
"Can I help you with something ma'am?" The small petite woman asked. She was wearing a black and white maid outfit with her red hair pulled into a bun. I wondered if she was Jay's mistress. She smiled warmly as she retreated towards me.
"Umh... I was just looking for the kitchen."
"It's this way follow me." She reminded me of a princess. Everything about her was perfect, the way she walked as if she was on clouds, the way the words came off her tongue. To top it all off she was beautiful with her red hair, dark brown eyes and high cheek bones.
His kitchen was situated on the far left side of the house with beautiful oak counters, stainless steel appliances and an antiqued island/bar. She glided across the floor towards the refrigerator.
"What would you like to eat ma'am?" She asked, holding the door open.
"My name is Lilly."
"Nice to meet you Lilly, I'm Maria," she smiles, sticking her hand out in front of her. I stick my hand out to shake it and as soon as I do, I jerk at the coldness of her touch. Why was her hand so cold and how did she get all the way over here so quick? I stare up at her, her eyes a dark brown. "Shh... please don't tell anyone, Lilly."
