Lil Kim Not Happy About Her Portrayal in Biggie Movie

Lil Kim, upon seeing the new movie about The Notorious B.I.G., is unhappy with how she’s portrayed in the film.
Lil Kim, who counted The Notorious B.I.G. as her mentor and lover, isn’t too happy about her recent portrayal in the movie about the late rapper, apparently claiming that the portrayal is accurate. She noted in a statement, "The film studio and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a ‘character’ to create a more interesting story line instead of a person with talent, self-respect and who was able to achieve her own career success through hard work." Indeed Lil Kim. Indeed.

Lil Kim, however, is undoubtedly not the first individual to be somewhat inaccurately portrayed in a film. After all, the golden rule of any movie is to sell tickets, and sometimes reality is just too boring to do so, even if the context is the big-business world of dead celebrities. Lil Kim also noted, "Even though my relationship with Big was at times very difficult and complicated, it was also genuine and built on great admiration and love for each other. Regardless of the many lies in the movie and false portrayal of me to help carry a story line through, I will still continue to carry his legacy through my hard work and music."

No less a dignitary than The Notorious B.I.G.’s mother, Voletta Wallace, voice her opinion of Lil Kim’s reaction, saying, in short, to quit whining. "This is not a Lil Kim movie," she said. "This is a Christopher Wallace movie. It has nothing to do with Lil Kim. If she is disappointed and upset, that is her problem."
