Like I'd Never Known

True love is simple verse.
In the sanctified morning,
She awoke with the sun,
She spread her wings wide,
And woke up with a yawn,
She opened her heart,
And love flew from her soul,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

Her hair was a statement,
Fit for an angel,
Not a hair out of place,
She was crowned with a halo,
Her silence was golden,
I wallowed in that sound,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

Born from a flower,
He beauty was blessed,
She smelled of life's wonder,
With her perfumed scent,
I inhaled her fragrance,
And held it within,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

She sang along with the birds,
To their morning call,
And her sweet lullaby,
Held me in awe,
So gentle and soothing,
So melodic and warm,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

With the words of a poet,
She spoke soft and low,
A sweet smile accompanied,
With every syllable,
Her eyes sparkled with love,
And an honor, renowned,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

She whispered "I love you.",
And I kissed her then,
And she held me closely,
And I kissed her again,
I lost myself in her embrace,
So pleasing to behold,
And I felt a contentment,
Like I'd never known.

Now we share the garden,
Of life's golden thrill,
And we share the wonder,
Of our own little world,
And we dance beneath the stars,
And the magical moon,
And I feel a contentment,
That will be forever known.
