Lights - Part 6
"Get back exactly where we were?" She says moving to where she was.
Emily and I sit down on the couch in my living room.
"So, what all do you think you can do?" She asks looking at me.
"I don't know, I haven't really tried anything, I didn't even try to unfreeze you, I just thought about it, and it happened." I cross my arms and look at her.
"Well, maybe we can go into town and figure it out?" She suggests.
"Maybe, but how are we going to get there?" I motion to the backyard, "I mean, Jordan has the car, and Erika can flash."
"Ugh, let's go unfreeze them I guess." Emily says sounding annoyed.
Emily and I get up and walk back into the backyard.
"Get back exactly where we were?" She says moving to where she was.
"Good idea." I say moving back where I was.
I lift my hands to unfreeze Erika and Jordan, but when I do, I send out a shock wave like the one I did at Jack and Raul, it unfreezes them but also sends them flying across the yard. Emily and I quickly chase after them.
"Are you guys okay?" Emily shouts before she reaches them.
"What the hell was that Steven!" Jordan says stumbling to her feet.
"Yeah, really!" Erika says shrugging Emily off her.
"I just, tried to unfreeze you and I threw you on an accident, I guess?"
"Bull, you don't have telekinesis." Erika says flashing to my side, starting to examine me.
"Maybe I should see everything I can do?" I shrug.
They all nod in agreement, so I walk towards the woods, and look at a branch sitting near a tree. I outstretched my hand focusing on the branch and slowly lift my hand, and so does the branch. I think for it to freeze, and it does, only the branch freezes. I then focus on the tree it was lying under. I think about it coming back where it came from and it instantly flies back to the tree and reconnects.
"That's so not fair." Emily says, first to break the silence.
"I think it's cool!" Erika and Jordan shout together.
"I'm not complaining." I state bluntly.
"Well, I'm jealous." Emily says without hesitation.
I turn towards my house and run to the side gate. I run out into the front yard and face the town. I then turn looking at Emily, Erika, and Jordan who followed closely behind me.
"Did we change anything?" I say looking between them.
"Ohmygosh, he's right," Jordan says grabbing her blue sapphire necklace. "We could have changed everything going back where we weren't supposed to."
"Holy hell, you're both right." Erika says.
Erika reaches out her hand for us all to take, we all grab it without hesitation and we're flashed into town, passing all the same lights but so much faster than I've ever seen them. It feels like less than a second before we're in town standing near where the mall should be, but isn't. Looking around we see some things have indeed changed, shops in different locations, different owners, different people. We slowly walk through the town we look around, seeing new faces, places with different names.
"What did we do?" Emily says gripping my hand.
"I don't know, I really don't." I reply.
"Internet!" Erika exclaims.
"What?" I look at her confused.
"Internet!" She says again. "We can look up our town's history!" She yells, then she gets quiet when she sees some people looking at us.
"You're right!" Jordan says. "My house, we can use my laptop."
Erika leads us all into an empty alley where nobody's around, takes us and flashes us all to Jordan's room. Jordan quickly grabs her laptop off her bed and opens it, typing into Google the history of our town.
"Ohmygosh..." Jordan says, jaw dropping.
"What?" Emily and Erika say simultaneously.
"What is it?" I say directly after.
"You remember Jack and Raul?" Jordan says looking at Erika.
I take the laptop right out of Jordan's hands and begin reading out loud.
"The two men that saved our town after four strange kids destroyed it, was Raul Vilstene and Jack Redburn who both received a key to the city." I finish looking up at them, all shocked as I am.
"We have to go back." Jordan says looking down at nothing.
"No we can't." Erika says standing up backing away.
"I think we have to, Erika." I say looking at Erika.
"I think we should too." Emily says quietly.
Erika walks over to Emily and slaps the side of her head. "It's your fault all of this happened anyway you dumb brat!" Erika screams.
"Erika, please, can you just flash us to the alter?" Jordan says reaching out to Erika.
"Fine." Erika says taking Jordan's hand and mine.
We appear close to where we were when we last cast the spell, and we all sit down, and take hands, Erika sort of resisting.
"You all remember the spell, right?" Emily says looking at all of us, we all nod.
"We call on the elements air, fire, earth, water, and spirit. Use our words of magic, reverse the clock, undo what was to change what is, to an outcome that we all seek." We all chant together, everything flowing back as it did before, then comes to a halt.
"We're here." Emily states.
"So, what all do you think you can do?" She asks looking at me.
