Lightheadedness and Fatigue

Lightheadedness and fatigue are different medical conditions. However, these can occur at the same time and prove troublesome for a person. This article talks about lightheadedness and fatigue independently and also about the relation between the two.

Alex, 35 worked in a multinational organization and was amongst the best employees of the company. Apart from meeting the daily targets, he was helpful, enthusiastic and agile all the time. At the outset, let us understand what is lightheadedness? Lightheadedness is a medical condition characterized by an unpleasant feeling of dizziness and weightlessness of the head. A person suffering from lightheadedness might always think, that he/she might faint anytime. Lightheadedness occurs in short episodes. However in some cases severe lightheadedness occurs everyday and lasts for a considerably long time.

Now you must be wondering, what causes lighheadedness? The most common reasons for lightheadedness include shortage of blood or oxygen supply to the brain, stress and exertion, dehydration, low blood pressure, fever and diarrhea. In some people, anemia and low blood sugar level have also found to be the causes of lightheadedness. Besides being an independently occurring disorder, lightheadedness is a symptom of stroke, bleeding, shock and various heart problems. Let us now look at its symptoms. Although lightheadedness seems troublesome, there's nothing to be worried about! But what to do for lightheadedness? Well, it can be treated with the help of medications and natural remedies. The treatment of lightheadedness largely depends upon its cause. Consuming sufficient quantities of water, intravenous fluids, eating sugary food products and avoiding sudden changes in sitting or standing positions are some of the remedial measures for lightheadedness.

Fatigue

Now, fatigue is something, which is known to almost all of us! Fatigue in simple words can be defined as a temporary loss of energy and strength in an individual. Fatigue often leads to tiredness and is a result of over exertion, insufficient rest and unhealthy eating habits. It is also a symptom of many different medical conditions. Fatigue is a normal condition, however following some preventive measures can avoid situations of tiredness and exhaustion.

Treatment for Fatigue
Usually, multivitamin antibiotics help generate energy and strength. However see that you consult a specialist in this regards. Instead of medications, it is better to prevent fatigue. Here are the preventive measures for fatigue.
  • Sufficient rest.
  • Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.
  • Consuming plenty of water.
  • Staying away from addictions such as smoking, alcohol and drugs.
  • Regular exercises.
  • Balancing the work and personal schedule.
You must have understood that the causes of lightheadedness and fatigue are almost the same. Mental stress, physical exhaustion and insufficient blood supply are are the common causative of both lightheadedness and fatigue and therefore both of these can occur at the same time. Preventive measures mentioned above are usually effective and would keep both these problems at bay.
