Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous

My life is far from normal. First off I am the daughter of two extremely talented and famous parents. Did I mention they were famous? Yeah... well my mother has her own talk show every morning on the most watched channel in America. My father is a music producer for all the big country music artists. What is my talent? I really don't have one, nor do I want one. I mean I can sing pretty well and I am really pretty so I could be an actress if I wanted to but I just don't feel like I do after seeing the lives of my parents. Anyway, this is the story of my hectic, drama-filled life.

"Jayme-Lynne!" shouts my mother on one of the many intercoms we have in our Beverly Hills mansion

I walk over to the intercom located in my bedroom and press the tiny button that says 'talk' and I say "Mommy I am in my room...trying to get ready for the day...why what's up?"

"Ok but honey I need you to hurry up...how much longer will you be? I have to be at the studio in an hour, so we don't have much time"

"I will meet you in the car in about ten minutes...breathe mom. Breathe." I say

I finish curling my long dark brown hair and paint my face with a little more makeup than usual. I know what you are thinking...why is this girl doing her own hair and makeup? Don't her parents have a hair and makeup team around? Well this is true they do, however, I love doing my own hair and makeup because I am actually really good at it. I want to be in that business when I am a little older. I finish applying my dark black mascara to my eyes. I always put just enough on so that my blue eyes pop! I throw on my favorite Jimmy Choo's, grab my Fendi sunglasses, snatch my coach bag and make my way down the spiral staircase leading to the front door.

Today is the big 18th anniversary for 'The Rachael Rivers Show'. That's my mom's talk show. She started her show the year I was born. Yes, that makes me 18 and for that reason I have to make a special 'guest' appearance on my own mother's show.

I hop into the stretch limo parked in front of my house. My mother along with her manager /best friend is already seated in the luxury vehicle. Linda is her name. Her and my mom have been great friends since they were in college together. She helps me a lot too. Linda is like an aunt to me.

"Aw Jay look at you...you are unbelievably gorgeous baby doll" Linda says

"Thanks Aunt Linda, you look great too"

"Picture!" Aunt Linda says and she snaps a quick photo of me like she always does. I swear she must be able to fill a whole photo album with pictures of just me...maybe even more.

"So mom who are the other guests for today besides myself?" I ask as we make our way down the beautiful streets of California.

"Well you of course, Joanne Sullen, and one more special one for you" she says

"Who the hell is Joanne Sullen?!" I ask not knowing that name

"Oh she's the lead actress in that new TV show that came out last month on channel five"

"Oh right, the one you made me watch with you" I reply. That show was so dumb

"Well Jay I had to get an idea about the show and Joanne's character. It would be pretty embarrassing not knowing what to talk about during the interview" my mother says

"So enough about her...who is the other person...my so-called surprise?!" I ask anxiously

"You will have to wait and see" my mom says and I look over to Linda and she always tells me everything so she gives me a hint. She spreads her arms like she is flying. Um? Then she starts pointing to her heart and humming a familiar tune. Oh my god!!

"NO WAY!! Leonardo DiCaprio?!?" I ask excitedly

"Oh Linda why must you always give it away" says my mom

"Thank god you told me...I have to freshen up" I say and my mom and Linda start laughing

"Sweetie, Leo is a bit too old for you. Don't you think?" asks Linda

"Who ever said about getting with him? I just want him to like me as a person" I say seriously

When I am done applying my Mac lip gloss I see that we have arrived at the studio. I jump out of the limo and make my way to the double doors. The setting is all too familiar even though I haven't been here in like months.

"Jayme-Lynne, sweetie how have you been? Long time no see" says the receptionist

"Hey there...I know it's been too long" I say and continue on to the dressing room

Nothing has changed since I have been here last, nothing ever does. My mom always keeps my dressing room bright pink and filled with snacks and soda as she did when I was a little kid. I have had so many memories in this dressing room. I spent most of my summers here while my father also had to work during the day...only he couldn't bring me.

BUZZ! BUZZ! My phone was vibrating

"Hi daddy!" I say into the phone

"Hey Jay how's it going? Did you get to the studio yet?" my dad asks

"Yes we are here. We just arrived about ten minutes ago. I am really nervous because guess who is one of the special guests" I say

"Mommy told you...oh wait no Linda did right?" he asks

"How did you guess?" I say and laugh

"Oh baby don't worry your great and you will do awesome out there...just be yourself. Heads up, I saw mommy slip in some baby pictures in her bag this morning" my dad tells me

"Oh no! She wouldn't" I say and chuckle

"At least you were a cute kid. Listen I have to run because I have to call your mother too but good luck and I wish I could be there to support you babe. I love you" my dad says

"I love you too daddy. When will you be getting home?" I ask before hanging up

"Tonight. Right now I am working on a track with Taylor Swift" he says

"Aw Taylor!! Tell her I miss her and I say hello" I reply

"I will, I definitely will. I will see you later then...goodbye Jay"

I hang up my cell phone and start getting changed for the show.
