Life Throws Curve Balls Chpt 6

As I sat in my room thinking about the night before and how I had finally worked up the courage to ask Josh out, I heard my cell phone ring.

"Hello?" I answered

"Hey, Steph, It’s April. I’m down the street from your house; do you want to go for ice cream with Peter Crystal and Darren?" April asked

"Um...yeah sure! Ill be out in a min" I answered. I grabbed my purse and ran upstairs. I walked into my kitchen and say my mom.

"Mommy...Can I have some money?" I begged her

"Ugh, What for?" She questioned with agony in her voice.

"Well... Peter, April, Crystal, and Darren all want to go for ice cream." I told her

"Ok, get my wallet." She asked me as I turned to the kitchen table to grab her purse. She searched through her wallet and pulled out a $10 bill. She handed it to me as I got my shoes on and opened the front door. I stood outside in the nice weather as I waited for Peter to get to my house. I sat on the stair and thought long and hard about how I had forgotten to tell my mother about Josh. I was just about to go to her and tell her about my boyfriend, when Peter pulled up. I stood up and ran over to the car.

"Hey Stephy!" Crystal shouted.

"Hey" I smiled at her. I hoped she was not angry that josh and I were now dating each other.

"I herd about you and josh! I’m so happy for you" Crystal announced. I smiled over at her glad that she was ok with him and I being together. I really had nothing to worry about I mean Crystal was one of the best friends you could have; she always put her friends first before herself. Friends like her do not come around often and when they do, you should always hold onto them.

"Yeah, I hope it lasts long I really like him a lot." I smiled

"So where are we going? I asked Peter.

"McDonalds or how I like to call it McDicks." He laughed.

"Oh ok sounds good to me."

We arrived at McDonalds. We all got out of the car and headed for the door. We walked inside and placed our order. We sat in the back by the bathrooms where there was big enough tables to hold all five of us. We all got to talk about school and planning something for Peter’s birthday which was a week away.

"Steph, I have to tell you something..." April announced.

"Yeah shoot!" I insisted.

"Well today at school I heard something. I’m not quite sure how to tell you this..." She said with gratitude in her voice. My stomach started to do back flips and I began to feel a bit nauseous.

"Well, I was talking to this girl that I go to school with, her name is Megan. She was telling me about how she is dating...Josh..." She frowned.

"Are you sure?" I demanded.

"Yes...I’m sure." She replied. I sat there in silence and thought to myself. It hasn’t even been two days and already this relationship is going down the drain. I stood up and told everyone that I would be back. I walked into the bathroom and stood in there as I began to feel my face get hot. My vision began to become blurry. I blinked and felt tears begin to roll down my face. I ran into one of the stalls as I began to shed more tears and grab myself the toilet paper and then I heard the door open to the bathroom.

"Steph?" I heard Crystal call out my name

"Are you ok?" She asked.

"No" I cried as I stepped out of the stall drenched in my own tears.

"It feels like someone just took a knife and stabbed me in the heart" I cried some more

"Oh, Stephy, its ok, everything will be ok. Maybe it is all a miss understanding." She tried to comfort me.

"No, its fate, I can never be happy." I cried out. I stood there as the tears flowed out of my eyes and down my face.
"Come on Steph, come sit down and we can all talk." She begged me. I gave in and walked out of the bathroom.

I sat down in my chair in silence and grabbed my cell phone. I looked at it to reveal a text message from Josh.

‘Hey Hun, I miss you already! How has your day gone?’ I looked at the message and cried some more. As I began to text message him back I decided that I would ask him about Megan.

‘Who is Megan?’ I asked him. I sent the message and looked up. April was looking at me and smiled.

"Well at least u haven’t gone longer knowing that he was cheating." She smiled. I know she meant well but, at that moment, it wasn’t something I wanted to hear at that moment in time. I herd my phone vibrate and I looked down at it, Josh had responded,

‘My ex girlfriend, why?’ He asked. I texted him back telling him the story of what happened and he explained that he told her it was over before we got together. I was still very upset because April had just spoke to her and she told her otherwise.

April had decided that she was going to go to school and talk to Megan. April had plans on calling Josh during the day with Megan standing there with him, so I was just going to have to wait in agony.

Later that night when I got home I received a text message from my ex boyfriend Krzysztof (Chris-t-off).

‘Hey Hun, I was thinking that maybe you and I could meet up and talk a bit?’ I debated on whether or not I thought it was a good. I thought long and hard and decided that I would go see him and talk to him about today and what I should do.

‘Sure, come pick me up and we can talk.’ I responded.

About a half hour later, Krzysztof messaged me telling me that he was down the street. I grabbed my jacket and headed upstairs to the front door. I walked out of the house and headed to his car. He drove a mazda3 car that was blue. It was nothing like peters car, it was not a piece of shit it was only about a year old and my favorite type of car. As I sat in the front seat I began to have second thoughts about what I was doing.

"Hey, I’ve missed you" He smiled.

"That’s nice" I smiled. We drove off to Tim Horton’s to talk about "us" as he put it.

"You, know I really miss you." He smiled to me and placed his hand on my leg.

"I actually started dating someone yesterday" I admitted, removing his hand from my leg.

"Oh, well I know if you were really serious, you wouldn’t want to be right here with me now would you?" He stated.

"Not true. I wanted to keep you in my life, you were good to me." I said. Krzysztof looked at me and smiled. He slowly began to lean into me closer and closer. Finally he had kissed me. I kissed hi back but only for a second realizing what I had just done. I pushed him away from me and whipped my lips.

"I have a boyfriend" I shouted.

"Yes, but, he’s not me." He claimed. I looked at him with sadness. I turned to the window of his car and thought to myself, "I haven’t even been with josh a whole two days, and I’ve already cheated on him!" I was so upset with myself. I felt horrible!

"Take me home please" I asked Krzysztof. He looked at me and shrugged, not answering my question but turning on the car.
