Life Sucks And Then You Die Chapter 1 Part 4 (and revised part 3)
Veronica's life is gonna be turned upside down.
Yay chapter 1's done.
Ok guys so I have a way for the story to fit the title in a way you'd never guess (Lina you were much help in this. Thanks for your suggestions) I also have a couple of changes to part 3 of chapter 1. So I have the revised part 3 and part 4 are together. It's obvious but not that obvious. And one last thing. I'm sorry for taking so long but I have a lot of shows coming up. I have written 4 chapters already (long ones at that) but sitting to type them is hard. At least with writing, I can just do it while I'm on the train (which I do). But I'll try to go faster.

Part 3
I ran up and hugged him, which shut him up quick. I pulled back fast before he could try to bite my neck, and rushed up ahead of him screaming "Race me" at the top of my lungs. We ran and I beat him by at least 3 yards. I reached the shining doors, which to my surprise were locked. I glared behind me towards Sean's approach and prepared to launch an onslaught of bad words that shouldn't be in my vocabulary, but suddenly remembered that it was 3:00pm and Rampage wouldn't open till 8:00pm. I didn't even know if Sean had called in advance.
"Dammit S, why didn't you make sure it wasn't closed before we came all the way hare?" I yelled while probably turning a bright red.
"Shut up the back door genius!"
"Fuck you!" Our relationship was definitely not a healthy one.
"Come on" he yelled as he ran to the back door.
"Cheater!"
I ran around towards the back door and when I reached him, he had a smug look on his face.
"Now as a consolation prize, you should let me suck your blood" he said with his Dracula impression.
"Puh-lease" I said as I pushed open the door and was hit by a huge wave of cold air. It was so dark that I could barely see my hands. "You know I've never been in the back of this place before, it's like a dungeon."
"Are you scared?" Sean whispered in my ear.
"Nope I'm never scared."
"Never say never. It'll probably come true" he said as he grabbed me from behind.
I shoved him hard, spun around and said "Do we have to have this talk again?"
"Yeah I know, we're friends, nothing more nothing less. But I still can't understand why we can't be friends with benefits."
"Ha, whatever. We're spending too much time standing around and talking than getting a job.
"Guys this isn't a good impression you're giving me, trying to make out in the back of my club. Come on, really can we be a little bit more mature than this." said a deep voice not faraway from me.
The lights came on as I slowly turned to see the most gorgeous man I had ever seen in my life (even though he had to be around 40 something). I'm not attracted to older men but with his brunette hair and caramel complexion he would make any women fall in love with him.
"Sorry, she's daydreaming about me again. Hi, I'm Sean Clarke. I'm the one who called you about working here. I sent you both mine and my friend Veronica Owen's application." I heard Sean say with a little disdain at the word friend.
"Yes. Yes I know who you are. I just wanted to make sure you know who you are." he said with a grin on his face. "Follow me."
As we followed him into the front of the club, I blurted "You know we weren't doing anything back there. He's just my knuckle headed best friend who doesn't understand the meaning of no."
"Right" he said sarcastically.
Great I'm trying to justify myself to this man who doesn't even believe me. "Look Mr. --"
"Call me Greg."
Wow Greg is not a sexy enough name for this guy.
"Look Greg, I don't even want this job, I'm only doing it for Sean. So if you could not give us sh- ... crap, it would be greatly appreciated."
Suddenly his expression changed from impassive to utter glee, and a hint of something else that I couldn't quite put my finger on.
"You know what. Your hired, I like you. You've got spunk kid. Real, what do they call it? Chutzpah. And you" he suddenly turned to Sean still full of glee but without that other something. "There's something about your personality. Something that I like. I just don't know what."
"Probably because he's a vampire." I said with a little disdain. I mean what about me. Why are we back to talking about Sean. I love the odd compliment. But I noticed once said the word vampire the huge smile plastered on Greg's face slipped away and was replaced by an almost cruel glare.
"We don't accept your kind here" he said as he looked at Sean with such disgust that I, was so close to punching his lights out. I hoped he would fall face first into the bar when his eyes snapped at me and I saw a bright flash of anger. I was scared out of my wits end. But then he smiled and that flicker of anger was put out like a light. "Your strong" he said then he turned around and called over his shoulder.
"Both of you change into something more... appropriate. You start tonight at 7:30. If all goes well you can keep the job. Oh and boy" he swung around looked Sean in the eye and said "I don't want to hear you call yourself "vampire" again. It's not becoming. If I hear it, you'll be fired at once" but then he added under his breath which only I heard "or killed".
Part 4
What the fuck. He just threatened my best friend over being a "vampire". Was this going to be a new prejudice? No one can consider them self a vampire or they will be killed. Bull! But the funny or not so funny thing is that I couldn't yell at him. I couldn't tell him we didn't want this job and that we loved vampires, but something was holding me back. I had no idea what it was.
I rushed up to the locked front door ready to have to tug and pull in order to open it, but it swung open as soon as I touched the handle. I was too pissed off to pay any attention to it and screamed curses down the hill until I didn't hear Sean behind me. I swung around and he was still in the doorway looking stunned and silent. Everything inside me softened and I ran up to him, hugged him and asked what's wrong.
"You."
"Yes?"
"Fucking."
"Huh?"
"LOVE HIM!" he whispered through gritted teeth.
"What?!"
"So, now you're deaf too? Oh wait a minute that may be the case anyway. You sure did act as if you couldn't hear him when he was bad mouthing me as if I were some kind of monster.
"Oh. It's just, I couldn't say anything. I don't know why. I just felt intimidated."
"Intimidated, since when do you feel intimidated." he yelled. "You once threw a punch at a football player because he looked at you the wrong way. Don't lie to me." He ended in barely a whisper.
I knew he was pretty upset whenever he looked this calm. I can't believe this. He can't take my word. He could always take my word.
"Look If you don't want to talk to me, fine! You need time to chill. I'm still going to work tonight. I finally had a job and I'm not letting you bring me down. If you come, don't even bother saying anything to me. You can't just accuse me of something and expect me to let it slide that easily."
I started to walk away. "Whatever" I heard him yell behind me. Well whatever to you too.
