Life of a Woman
Here's a poem I wrote for Woman's Day. The subject is Muliebrity, and I hope you like it!
PS: It's a poem about being a prostitute, who celebrates what she does, because it helps her, and her family! :D
Life was never easy,
Being who I am,
But I'm grown up
No longer in a pram.
My life is though,
My job is hell,
So this is now,
My story to tell.
So listen to me,
Hear me scream,
for this life,
was never my dream
But I am proud,
And I'll stay strong,
I'm helping my family,
All yearlong.
So I'll just keep working,
Wearing tight skirts,
Living a life,
Filled with judging smirks,
Ignoring your comments,
Earning my cash,
Saving my dignity,
Not letting it crash.
As I pick up the pieces,
Of my shattered life,
I think of how it feels to be,
An average housewife.
But that's not me,
I'm not someone's wife,
I've got no house,
Only a fiery life.
So when I'm the winner,
You'll not judge me,
The so proclaimed 'sinner'.
So listen to me,
Hear me scream,
I'm helping my family,
And that was my dream!
Being who I am,
But I'm grown up
No longer in a pram.
My life is though,
My job is hell,
So this is now,
My story to tell.
So listen to me,
Hear me scream,
for this life,
was never my dream
But I am proud,
And I'll stay strong,
I'm helping my family,
All yearlong.
So I'll just keep working,
Wearing tight skirts,
Living a life,
Filled with judging smirks,
Ignoring your comments,
Earning my cash,
Saving my dignity,
Not letting it crash.
As I pick up the pieces,
Of my shattered life,
I think of how it feels to be,
An average housewife.
But that's not me,
I'm not someone's wife,
I've got no house,
Only a fiery life.
So when I'm the winner,
You'll not judge me,
The so proclaimed 'sinner'.
So listen to me,
Hear me scream,
I'm helping my family,
And that was my dream!
