Lies and Deception [Sneek Preview]

A little look into my upcoming new story...
Lies and Deception [Sneek Preview]
"I’ll be fine," even though, the voice sounded unsure of itself. That, perhaps, saying so would convince herself that she was right.

The shuffle of shoes against rocky ground softly echoed off the close buildings. The small group was hidden by a deserted alley way, hushed voices were only heard by the rats and wild cats. The two were surrounded by graffiti walls, over flowing dumpsters, and the random empty card board box. Even so, they spoke further back.

"I don’t need you to be making a fool out of yourself, Katrina," a harsh, cold voice ordered the other. This one sounded older then the other, more mature and in control sounding. The speaker stepped out from the darkness, her features outlined by the faint light from a far away lamp post

She stood tall, with dark brown hair falling down her slim shoulders. Her features were sunk in and her clothes tight, making her look ancient. Even so, she had an affect on the other, who seemed frightened. Her hand soon flew up, hushing the other who was about to speak.

"No excuses, no promises. This is a demand. Don’t go and mess your first time up, we don’t need to cover up for your foolishness," she spook quick and clear, making it her point that this was going to be a one chance shot.

"I get it, I’ll be fine," the younger voice spoke, her figure barely being able to spot through the darkness, "trust me."

"We are and if you screw this up, it’s back to it being brought to you until we are totally positive you can make it out here. You remember what happened when Josiah let it slip, we had to entirely relocate. I don‘t want what happened to him to happen to you."

Josiah. The thought of him still panged her. He was one of the very few that made her through her days without entirely cracking. It was hard being the new fledgling to the covenant, being trained to handle life and take control of your actions. Feeling the craving for blood, your body changing, it just had been to much for her and Josiah was the one that helped her through it… But then he cracked.

"I understand," she muttered under the tone of her voice, making sure that she wasn’t going to do anything stupid and reveal her new family. Losing everything all over again was not something she wanted.
