Lies and Deception [Chapter 5]

Finally had some time to type another chapter up.
Bodies bumped into her everywhere, knees jabbed into her legs, and elbows pushed their way past her. It was dark, even though it’s been well over three weeks, her eyes still haven’t adjusted to the darkness well enough to understand what was going on. It was a total mass of chaos, everyone else screaming for help as the herd was pushed through the door of the small room.

"This is it," Katrina thought, this is what Josiah was talking about. It was time for the vampires to claim their claims.

She could feel the tension and fear in the air, it was thick enough that it even effected her even thought she know who she was going to. Katrina actually felt sorry for everyone else, who was running around and being shoved around with no idea what was going on.

Somewhere up ahead someone was organizing everyone to form three straight long lines. It took awhile and a few more elbow jabs, but Katrina was finally place someone where in the middle of the second line. Standing on her tiptoes, she peer over the shoulders of the ones in front of her.

Vampires lined up along the walls, most of them tall and buff., including the females. It was like they all worked out every hour of the day and Katrina had to admit it, she felt intimidated by it. Josiah was nothing compare to these vampires, how in the world did he get a claim set on her?

A lady, tall and skinny, stood out in front of them all. She didn’t look like the rest, in fact she looked weak among them all, yet it felt as if she had a high role in this little vampire gathering. With just a flicker of her wrist, the line of over muscled vampires came towards them.

The vampires around her were soon claimed, after what seemed like forever to Katrina, she was left standing with two other vampires out of the large group. Still she stood there, it was as if she couldn’t move. The other vampires left, leaving the three of the new vampires left the more fragile looking vampire.

"Follow me," the voice the came from here didn’t seem to fit. It was low, harsh, and cold, making the hair on the back of Katrina’s neck stand up. Just the sound of her vampire made her feel afraid and she had no choice but to follow.

What happened to Josiah?

The thought soon hit her as she entered into a dimly lit corridor. She would at least expected to see him show up at the claiming and no totally skip out on her. Swallowing a lump in her throat, Katrina kept her gaze to the floor as she followed. She couldn’t help but feel betrayed.

How could he of done that to her? He fed her all these false hopes and then he just left her… How could he?

Her fist balled up, she barely even notice her nails almost breaking through her skin. This feeling that she felt right now hurt, it hurt more than anything that she could remember from her former life. If she say him, she’ll… she’ll…

Katrina had no idea what she would do, but right now she felt nothing. There was nothing to look forward to, that was Josiah’s job and now he deceived her. He just left her for whatever this lady had planned for her and deep down in her stomach she knew it wasn’t right.

At the sounds of a loud creak, she looked up just in time to see a large metal door swinging open. Inside was a large gym, much more advanced than any gym she seen when she was human.

"This," the lady turned around, her sunk features looking more sharp in a bright light, "consider it your new home. Tomorrow, your training will start… Until then."

And she left, leaving Katrina and the others with over large vampires eyeing them.

What was going on?
