Library Bulletin Boards
One of the easy ways to track books and motivate kids to read are library bulletin boards, they can also make your school look vibrant. The use of bulletin boards also gives a chance for teachers and students to showcase their creative side.

A fun and good way to educate your students about the importance of reading is to have unique bulletin boards in your school. One of the most popular library bulletin board ideas is to have a theme based board, like I said earlier, having a board designed around the different seasons. It is also beneficial if you make a bulletin board that appeals to the senses of your audience. Here are a few ideas for teachers.
US Presidents
This is a unique and patriotic theme to have for your library bulletin board, have a board which depicts all the US presidents. Designing a library board around the presidents can be a very fun learning activity. You could accessorize the presidents with a satchel, in which you could keep chits with the name of the books that the students are reading. As President Obama is the 44th US President, you can have plenty of variations on your board. One way to make it interesting is you could start your board with the first 5 presidents for one week and then move onto the next five or you could start with the latest 5 presidents and work your way back.
Flora and Fauna
One of the easiest ways to teach your kids about the local flora and fauna is to have a green theme library bulletin board. Ask your students to adopt a plant or a flower they like and ask them to make cut outs of their adopted plants. This is a good way to teach your kids about arts and crafts along with some local plant knowledge, incorporate it as your monthly bulletin board idea. It will also give them a feeling of accomplishment because they will feel that they have contributed to the process. Now if you assigned books to their creations they will feel responsible for that particular book and might develop a special interest in reading. Have a pot for each plant and flower in such a way that you can stick the name of the book the student is assigned to read.
Sports
Everyone seems to love sports, especially kids, so take advantage of this and design your reading bulletin boards around different sports. For example, have a basketball hoop with a net which can hold chits with the name of books on them, or have a soccer goal post where you could hang the list of books in the net. If you have kids who like baseball have pictures of famous baseball players with the name of books emblazoned on their jerseys. A sports theme based library bulletin board will surely make some of your students show more interest in books and it is a great idea.
Bulletin boards are an innovative way to keep interest levels up in kids about books and the importance of reading and sharing them. Let your imagination go wild and come up with some eye-catching ideas for your bulletin boards and see the magic of books do the rest.
