LG GW300 vs HTC Touch Diamond 2-Every Feature Comes for a Price
The LG GW300 is the first Blackberry-style phone from LG and it comes with a fully functional QWERTY keypad. On the other hand the HTC Touch Diamond is an advanced and upgraded form of the original Touch Diamond and is equipped with an enhanced interface called TouchFlo along with Wi-Fi and GPS. But it's an expensive deal when compared to the one from LG.
Both LG and HTC are very competitive mobile phone manufacturers and have been quite successful in indulging themselves with some parts of the share in the world mobile market. LG is presently the world's third largest maker of mobile handsets just behind Nokia and Samsung, while HTC is an equally renowned company that primarily manufactures Microsoft Windows Mobile based mobile phones along with a few Google Android based devices. The HTC Touch Diamond 2 is a latest touch-phone from HTC and comes as an upgradation to the original Touch Diamond. The Touch Diamond 2 comes with a 3.2 inches TFT resistive touch panel which is a major improvement upon the 2.8 inches touchscreen of the Touch Diamond. It's a Windows Mobile device and also a top of the line equipment that runs on a powerful 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm. Being a touch-phone it comes with a very user-friendly interface called the TouchFlo that runs on a new platform from HTC called "Topaz".
Compared to this, the LG GW300 is the first Blackberry-style business phone from LG that comes with a fully functional QWERTY keypad but lacks a touchscreen display. It comes for a much lesser price than the Touch Diamond but it also lacks a few goodies like Wi-Fi and GPS that are present in the latter. The LG GW300 is a GSM-only phone with a quad-band reception unlike the Touch Diamond that also flaunts support for dual-band 3G service. It is also enabled with Class12 GPRS and Class12 EDGE whereas the one from HTC only has Class10 GPRS and Class10 EDGE. But both these devices are equipped with Bluetooth with A2DP and USB that facilitate cost effective and time saving data sharing between compatible devices. They also have support for instant messaging and also allow mobile email accounts . Whereas the phone-book in the GW300 can only store up to 1000 contacts, the Touch Diamond 2 allows unlimited entries and fields to be stored.
The GW300 comes with a minimal 2 mega pixel camera with capability for video recording which does not fare much in front of the 5 mega pixel camera of the Touch Diamond 2 that also has an auto-focus feature with Touch focus mechanism and video recording in VGA mode. But a stereo FM radio with RDS can be found in both these devices that add to their versatility and entertainment factor. One thing that the Touch Diamond misses out is the 3.5 mm audio jack port that the GW300 comes along with. While the HTC Touch Diamond 2 runs on a standard Li-Ion battery of 1100 mAh, the LG GW300 uses a standard Li-Po 900mAh battery. Even though the battery in the Touch Diamond 2 is superior than the one in the GW300, much of it is drained out by the extra applications and the touchscreen. Both get equal talk time of up to 5 hours from their batteries. Although the Touch Diamond 2 is much more advanced and versatile than the one from LG, both have been equally popular in the market. This is because both these devices are primarily meant for totally different segments and so definitely appeal to different takers.
