Let There Be Light
Female foeticide.......when will it stop?

Her albescent cheeks betrayed despair;
Her fingers trembled as she touched the report -
Amblyopia took over as she scanned its contents.
Afforcing her will, she called him up.
"What is it this time?", "A girl", she replied.
"Get admitted", he commanded, "I'll see you after work."
Her abidance was adynamic.
She had slain two girls before -
Why? 'Coz he wished so!
The doctor had warned against a third abortion -
It could either invite atocia or her death!
By the time he arrived, she was all done,
Lying listless and à la mort.
When he came, the doctor took him aside
And confronted him in the fashion of an alcaide -
"What's wrong with you? What's wrong?
Two girls and now this boy....?"
"A boy?" he choked, aghast and ashen.
He shook her and managed an inaudible "Why?"
Her eyes lit up – triumph danced therein,
Her lips curved in the faintest smile -
"I'd rather live a barren life,
I'd rather die childless, but glad -
Than bear the guilt of bringing forth
Yet another murderer into this world!"
Victorious, she sunk into that eternal swoon
Which took her to the land beyond the moon -
A land where malice doth never stray -
She joined her two girls at their play.....
