Let it Be...Chapter One
Sayuri...you know you are mah wife? Well....

Well...just the one boy in particular. Matthew David Right. He was truly something. He had quite long dark hair and a smile that could win over any soul, and it just so happens that on this beautiful day, he would meet her and it would change her whole life. I'm Sayuri-Marie and this is my story.
Summer sun has never shone brighter than this beautiful Tuesday morning. The dreary repetitive drone of the school bell had just rung for third period and the crowds made the giddy movement from the wondrous outdoors to the dark, hopelessness of the religious education department.
"Pair up class, we're going to perform, in sections, the birth of baby Jesus, so when you have your partner come collect a card with your scene on it."
I sat twiddling my thumbs endlessly, waiting for someone to come over and offer to be my partner. No takers. As the remainder of the class settled down and my view of the entire room was restored, I noticed there wasn't a single person sat down that hadn't already found someone to perform with. A wave of worthlessness and exclusion rushed over me, then a shadow did the very same. I tilted my chin up, ready to demand that this person would move out of my view and leave me alone, only to discover the face of Matt.
He'd refused to work with anyone else so that he could come and work with me. Me! I found myself blushing.
"Is this seat taken?"
His voice seemed to echo inside my head and as he grabbed the back of the chair, his arms tensed and his muscles pressed against his cotton, white shirt.
We talked for the remainder of the lesson, completely ignoring the task at hand, unaware of what scene that we had chosen and unprepared to unveil it. But still, we talked about what would seem like nothing, games, computers, favorite colors and the subject would go off on a tangent every now and then, but it didn't matter.
"Right class, lets act this out in order!"
First, a couple performed a comical version of Mary discovering she had the child of God within her and the next was Joseph's turn to learn the news. The entire class was in stitches by the time Mary and Joseph got to the Inn and even worse when they got into the stable.
"Brilliant, now lets continue, the next scene is Mary actually giving birth to the baby and the scene that follows is the kings turning up, so can we have those two scenes please?"
Only one couple stood up, the King's and with a face full of dread, I turned over the piece of paper to discover that we were up next.
"Miss, we haven't really got anything to show. We were talking too much and didn't get any work done."
I hated this feeling, I felt stupid. I'd never not done a class project and now that I hadn't I felt like I needed to apologize again and again.
Then Matt whispered to me,
"It's okay, I'll be up there with you, just...improvise and nothing can go wrong."
He took my hand and told the teacher we would perform what we had done already and then make the rest up as we go along.
"Just look around, no one is taking this seriously, so we shouldn't either. Overdramatise it, you're giving birth and just to make you feel less stupid..."
He sounded so sure about this, then suddenly he began screaming at people and hyperventilating and pointing back at me screaming the same words over and over, "It's coming, it's not mine, I don't know how it got there and she's got some explaining to do because I don't believe this God stuff but IT'S COMING!"
I nearly fell off the table with laughter.
There it is again, that dull claxon. Fourth period. It was the most interesting lesson I'd ever done but nothing could have prepared me for what happened next...
