Tenerife is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. That is due to great weather all over the year, a long coast with heavenly beaches and developed tourist facilities. But Tenerife weather is only one of the many advantages of this island. Tenerife is a paradise not only for admirers of the beach and sea, but also for mountain tourists. In the centre of the island there is the highest mountain of Spain, the Teide, with more than 3,700 meters of height, but there are also much more mountains there.

On the island you can also try fruits and vegetables of very high quality, much better than the ones growing on the Iberian Peninsula. Especially famous are the bananas, potatoes and tomatoes. While being in Tenerife it is worth to have a closer look at Canary traditions and festivals. Especially famous is Carnival de Santa Cruz. It takes place in the end of February and it lasts 10 days. There are songs, dances, parades and masquerades on the streets all over the island. The main attraction is choosing the queen of the Carnival.

Other important events are Romerias (pilgrimages). They take place in different times in different areas of the island, but normally in May, June or August. You can notice how local traditions mix with catholic customs in them. It is a really cheerful party that goes with the temper of Tenerife inhabitants. Apart from great nature and folklore, there are also places worth seeing in Tenerife´s cities. Visiting Santa Cruz de Tenerife you can visit Museum of Nature and Man, which presents the pre-Spanish past of the island. You can also take a sightseeing tour with a tram which connects Santa Cruz with La Laguna.

While traveling through the inland of Tenerife you can drop to the Casa Del Vino La-Baranda which is located in El Sauzal. There you can get to know more about tradition of cultivating grapes and production of wine in Tenerife as well as you can taste or buy some typical products. There is also a restaurant which serves local food.

If you want to experience on your own the unique atmosphere of Tenerife with its specific culture, climate and nature, so different from continental Spain, why don´t you look for an accommodation in Tenerfie as soon as possible to avoid high prices?
