Left-handed Scholarships
Looking for left-handed scholarships for college? Here's some information on left-handed scholarships for high school seniors.

Left-handed Scholarships and Grants
The rationale behind establishing left-handed scholarships is a pretty simple one. Over the years, left-handed people have been considered to be weird and even evil. One only needs to look at some of the origins of the word 'left' to be sure. In old Latin, the word for left 'sinistra' is widely considered to be oddly associated with the English word 'sinister', which gives some insight what the Latin people thought of left-handed people. The word 'gauche' is the French word for 'left' and while also synonymous with 'awkward', these two examples go a long way in suggesting what the left-handed people may have been subjected to in the past.
Another interesting argument in favor of the left-handed scholarships is that the marketing world doesn't pay too much attention to the minority left handers of the world and continually creates products which are more usable for the more populous community of right handers. The above two points, coupled with the fact that several famous left-handed people have emerged from several walks of life; music (Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney), entertainment (Jerry Seinfeld and Bruce Willis), politics (George Bush and Bill Clinton) and science (Albert Einstein), means that with proper education and provision of the means that left-handed people deserve, we will be able to see more and more, great and talented left handers emerge into the world.
Unfortunately left-handed scholarships are very rare to come by and the most prominent one on offer is the Frederick and Mary F Buckley scholarship. This scholarship is available for applicants to the Juanita College in Huntington, Pennsylvania. The scholarship was established by the late Mary Francis Buckley, in 1979 and several students - 40 to be precise - have been able to make the best of it. The Frederick and Mary F Buckley left-handed scholarship is worth between USD 1000 - USD 1500 as decided by the college and given to deserving students at the sophomore, junior and senior levels at the Juanita College. For the sake of general knowledge you would like to know that Mary F Buckley, the lady who started this scholarship herself was a student of the Juanita College.
Applying for the left-handed scholarship is another thing to consider. While a good academic performance is a prerequisite for any scholarship, it is also a good practice to keep all your reference letters and cover letters well. They may come in handy in endorsing your candidacy for the left-handed scholarships program.
So, this was all about left-handed scholarships. Like I said, for the students from the lower economic strata of society who cannot provide for education, scholarships like this can come in pretty handy. So, use this left-handed scholarship to your advantage!
