  • Stomach flu or gastroenteritis can also cause lower left back pain and diarrhea, along with nausea or vomiting.
  • Urinary tract infections may also cause lower left back pain and nausea. Along with other symptoms, like, burning sensation while urinating, urge to urinate frequently, bloated abdomen, etc., the affected person may also experience lower back pain, cramping and nausea.
  • Kidney infections and kidney stones are among the lower left back pain causes. The affected person may also feel pain and tenderness near the hips while urinating.
  • Consumption of oral contraceptives may cause left back pain and nausea or vomiting. Some women may also experience abdominal pain or cramps and diarrhea.
  • Pregnancy is another cause for lower left back pain and nausea in women. This is due to the expansion of the uterus and the hormonal changes.
  • Lower back pain and nausea in some women may also be one of the signs and symptoms of implantation bleeding, which takes place when the fertilized egg gets itself attached to the walls of the uterus.
  • In some cases, heart problems can also cause back pain and nausea, which may radiate to the entire back region, including the lower left back.
Apart from the above mentioned causes, some types of cancer may also cause lower left back pain and nausea. These symptoms are mainly seen in case of ovarian and colon cancer. If the symptoms are very mild, you can try some simple exercises to get rid of lower left back pain. Some herbal or home remedies can also bring back pain relief. Mild back pain is very common and can be relieved by some rest or a change in posture too. But, in case of severe symptoms, medical treatment, like physiotherapy is needed, and it is not advisable to carry on with just home remedies.
