Learning to Play Golf the Simple Way

The basics involved in learning how to play golf - if you're a beginner golfer or you're very interested in starting to play golf then read on.....
Are you knew to the game of golf, or have you always wanted to get into the sport? If you are or have then you will want to read some of the basics to learning to play golf, so you can become a better all round golfer and begin to play better golf.

First of all, you need to know what you want to learn. To work out what you should improve on you can ask yourself the following questions:

- How much do you know about golf?

- What would you like to learn about golf?

- What particular learning environment do you learn best?

- How much are you willing to pay to learn to play golf?

A good place you should begin to improve upon is in the grip of your golf club. An incorrect grip of the golf club is one of the many ways you can hit a duffed shot. A grip too tight can lead to hooking, and a grip too soft can lead to a slice.

Another element that needs to be correct is the swing. To establish a proper golf swing, you need to understand the takeaway, downswing, and the follow through. A good understanding of the position of the club face at impact is also essential.

Before you head out onto the unknown surroundings of an 18 hole golf course, a good knowledge of golf etiquette and proper golf attire is a must. This will improve the experience of the round of golf for you and your fellow golfers.

Now, the most important. Practice, practice, and oh yeah, practice!!!

Try and head out onto the golf course on your own, preferably through the week is most appropriate, as you won't feel pressured by other golfers around you. It is also a good idea to not keep score while doing this as it can be pretty stressful the first time round an 18 hole course. Just hit the ball round the course and get used to the holes.

You should be getting a little more comfortable with hitting the golf ball now, and it will be an advantage to you now to learn some more advanced techniques rather than just the basics. You will need to learn how to swing the golf club in a smooth and controlled tempo, so you can begin to feel completely in control of the ball in flight.

Many players are constantly learning how they can improve their swing and other elements of their game, so don't be afraid to keep on practicing and practicing, even hire a coach if need be.
