Lawyer and The Pope Go To Heaven

After a long and glorious life, the Pope finds himself standing next to a lawyer before the Pearly Gates of heaven. After a having a lengthy discussion involving their respective professions, St. Peter arrives to show them to their new heavenly homes. After passing out angel wings, halos and harps to the two, St. Peter flies them down on the front lawn of a huge palace estate with all sorts of lavish amenities. This, St. Peter announces, is where the lawyer will be spending eternity.

"Hot dignity", the Pope says to himself, "If he's getting a crib like this, I can't wait to see my place!" Leaving the lawyer behind, St. Peter and the Pope take flight once again and, as St. Peter leads on, the landscape below them begins look more mundane until they finally land on a street lined with Brownstone houses. St. Peter informs the Pope that the fourth house on the left is his now for eternity. As St. Peter turns to leave, the Pope - in a mild state of astonishment - cries out "Hey Pete! You put that lawyer fella in a beautiful estate home and I, a spiritual leader of Earth, end up with this place? What's the deal here?"

St. Peter looks at the pontiff bemusedly and replies: "This street is full of spiritual leaders from all times and religions. We're putting you here so you guys can get your dogma together. That other guy the palace because he's the first lawyer to ever make it up here!"
