Latest BlackBerry Phones: Ever Evolving Innovation

BlackBerry phones are very popular for their smartphone capabilities and the ease of use that they provide to mainly the business users. From what started as a two way pager service in 1999 by Research in Motion (RIM) it has transpired into a technological masterpiece.
In 2002, the first BlackBerry phone was released which supports push E-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, Internet faxing and web browsing. Multi-touch interface is an attribute which stands out all of the BlackBerry devices. Despite, many features being offered in every new handset, the main feature which identifies BlackBerry mobile phones is the E-mail support. Push E-mail technology is something that business users require most in their mobile phones and BlackBerry provides that in a great way.

Blackberry mobile phones are also appreciated across different segments for their stylish and elegant looks. They make a style statement of their own and are not that bulky despite their build. Their eyeball grabbing ability cannot be ignored as they are beautifully created and offer a glossy finish. Amongst other things, QWERTY keypad is available on many BlackBerry phones which are very well laid out and spacious in their design. They have well ordered keys and a neat, clean layout for quick text messaging and typing capabilities. A trackball or a scroll ball under the screen helps in navigation which was earlier done using a track wheel on the side.

BlackBerry launches new models every now and then only to better their earlier device. There are improvements in design, structure and software along with new features being added to continue with their innovation process. Two of the latest BlackBerry phones are Blackberry Storm and Curve 8900.

BlackBerry Storm – Continuing with the trend of classy and elegant looks, the phone has great curves and easy to use touchscreen display quality for even quicker navigation. A quadband phone with dimensions of 112.5 X 62.2 X 13.9 millimeters and weight of 155 grams makes it a cool choice. It has a large display screen of 3.5 inches and is capable of displaying 65K colours. Talk time of 5.5 hours and stand-by time of 360 hours govern its usage on a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery. As with all other Blackberry devices, it also runs on a BlackBerry OS (version 4.7). There is RAM of 128MB to run the phone. A 3.2 megapixel camera glorifies the images captured through the device and improves its quality further by using auto focus and flash functions. Videos can be captured and played in various file formats. Internet can be surfed when using GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/Bluetooth and USB connection. A 3.5 mm audio jack port helps in listening to music while the phone is being charged.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 – True to its name the device has scintillating curves and body structure to make anyone give it a second look. A well spaced QWERTY keypad is its main feature along with a neat display screen. The phone has dimensions of 109 X 60 X 13.5 millimeters and weighs a light 110 grams. It has a screen size of 2.44 inches and one which can display 65K colours. Talk time of 5.50 hours and stand-by time of 356 hours keep the phone running on a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery. The phone runs on BlackBerry OS (v 4.7) and has a processor speed of 512 MHz. It has a camera size of 3.2 megapixel with flash, auto focus and image stabilizer functions for quality image capturing. Videos can be captured and played in various formats. There wouldn't be extremely high speeds on this device as it only supports GPRS/EDGE on the pre-installed BlackBerry browser. However, that has been taken care of by including Wi-Fi support. There is additional memory slot for extra data storage.

Latest BlackBerry mobile phones are maintaining their standard and setting a precedent for other PDA and Smartphone developers in the market. This is visible from these two phones mentioned and would get even better with the release of BlackBerry Storm 2.
