Las Vegas Schools Kicks Off Several Events for the New School Year
Dr. Leonard Sax, one of the foremost authorities in the success of gender neutral education, addressed the teachers and staff of Cheyenne High School. This was part of a professional development day scheduled before the start of the new school year.
Las Vegas Schools Prosper this Summer
This past August, leaders from the Las Vegas Schools gathered at the Cashman Theatre for "A Celebration of Progress." This was a celebration to mark the opening of nine new schools and one replacement school in the Las Vegas School System.

Las Vegas Schools have ten new schools opening for the 2006-2007 school year. Nine are brand new schools, while one is a replacement of Rancho High School. This is part of a long term plan to meet student population demands and create modern facilities. The schools opening in August are six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.

In its continued commitment to arts education Las Vegas Schools have created the R. Guild Gray Virtual Gallery. This gallery serves as an innovative way to allow students and faculty of the Las Vegas School District to display their artwork. This is an excellent way to connect to the community and use of modern technology.

Las Vegas Academy, one of the magnet schools of the Las Vegas Public School District, has prepared a series of student produced and student led theater performances.
