Land of the Lost Movie has Media Seeking out Original Stars
Land of the Lost only ran for three years during the 1970s, but the three main stars from the show have kept in touch for all these years.
Land of the Lost, the cult classic that ran on television in the 1970s, was obviously popular enough to spawn a movie, as Will Farrell’s turn as Dr. Rick Marshall has met with commercial success in theaters. With the movie’s success, and the star power attached to it, the original stars of the television show have been sought out by members of the media in various "where are they now?" pieces. As it turns out, the actors who played the three main characters on the show, Spencer Milligan, Wesley Eure and Kathleen Coleman, who played Rick Marshall, Will and Holly, respectively, have all kept in touch over the past 30-plus years.
Milligan, who is now 70, lives on a 110-acre farm in Wisconsin. Said Milligan, We love it because we have all this privacy. I get the opportunity to direct local plays – I did a couple of plays a couple of years ago, a revival of Tennessee Williams one-acts. I like directing, it’s fun." Milligan spent several years after doing "Land of the Lost" performing in episodes of "The Bionic Woman," "Alice," "Quincy, M.D." and "General Hospital." When he heard about the movie, he responded, "It’s a little kookier than what we did. They got dinosaurs that look like dinosaurs!"
Wesley Eure, who played Marshall’s son Will and is now 57, spent a time in various television shows in the 1970s and into the 1980s, but found his greatest success with the PBS children’s series "Dragon Tales," which he co-developed. Eure had a cameo appearance in the new movie, but it was later cut from the final version. Coleman, who played Holly on the television show, did very little acting after the show ended, and now lives in Bel-Air. She is 47 years old and has two sons, 28 and 26, from her first marriage.
