Lake Tahoe Vacation: Lake Tahoe Beaches
A trip to the mesmerizing beaches makes Lake Tahoe vacations one of the most popular vacations in the country. Join us as we try to explore the exquisite Lake Tahoe beaches in the United States.
Baldwin Beach
HA Baldwin State Park, popularly known as Baldwin Beach, is a beautiful white sand beach located on the northern shore of Maui. Owing to its windy conditions, this beach is regarded as a paradise by kite-surfers as well as wind-surfers. The waters here are quite rough for most of the time, and therefore many people consider it safe to stay out of the rough waters. For those who don't want to miss out on swimming in the hot summer afternoon, the huge pool created by the natural rock breakwater at the eastern end of the beach is an ultimate delight. People who are well acquainted with swimming can opt for activities such as surfing along the main stretch.
Emerald Bay Beach
Emerald Bay Beach, as its name suggests, is located at the mouth of the Emerald Bay, at the mouth of the Eagle creek. The beach is surrounded by a few sharp peaks, therefore reaching the beach is an adventure in itself. Hiking and boating are two modes used to reach the Emerald Bay Beach. A mile-long hike takes you through a terrain with approximately 450 feet of elevation change. Though the beach appears to be a good place for swimming, one has to be careful of sudden depth of the water. In summer, the beach is mostly crowded with the boats used by the people to reach here. The large area of shallow water on the southern side of the Eagle creek is an ideal place for kids to swim. The Emerald Bay Beach is regarded as one of the 'most photographed place on the Earth'.
Kiva Beach
Kiva Beach is located at the north of Camp Richardson. One has to walk a little along the meadow to reach this beach. Kiva Beach has a large flat sandy plain near the mouth of Taylor Creek. Though the rock traces in the shallow waters make swimming difficult, they add to the serene beauty of the beach. A bit further inside the sea, swimming becomes a delightful activity. From Kiva Beach one can enjoy the splendid view of the tall mountains, including Mount Tallac in the surrounding. Wildflowers like Blue Pop Lupine, add some grace to the already beautiful environment here.
Nevada Beach
Nevada Beach is a huge sandy beach, stretching over a distance of 7 miles. In some areas, the beach is 300 yards wide. The camping areas on Nevada Beach are located near the hills in the forested area. Regarded as one of the widest beach, it is probably one of the windiest beaches in this area, and therefore one of the most preferred area for kiteboarding.
Zephyr Cove Beach
Zephyr Cove Beach is a mile-long sandy beach, which is quite famous among the party revelers. The beach has a vast range of recreational activities ranging from volleyball to boat rides. One can have the delight of enjoying the beautiful sunset, along with appetizing cocktails from the sea-facing sunset bar. The good thing about this beach is the party atmosphere here, which prevails throughout the summer.
With all these magnificent Lake Tahoe beaches to explore, one can easily guess that a Lake Tahoe vacation is bound to be full of fun and enthusiasm.
