Lake Stanley Draper
Lake Stanley Draper and Lake Hefner are the two popular lake destinations in Oklahoma City, and one of the three major urban water bodies in the city along with Lake Overholser. Built in 1962 and drawing water from Lake Atoka and McGee Creek Reservoir, Lake Stanley Draper was named after the former Chamber of Commerce director. The lake is home to marinas, fishing piers, picnic areas and skiing opportunities on open water.

Located near I-240 between Midwest Boulevard and Post Road in southeast Oklahoma City, the lake’s dam on the south side is a popular fishing destination as are the covered piers around the lake. Fishing and boating permits can be bought from select Wal-Mart and Conoco locations, Bass Pro Shops, Academy Sports & Outdoors, and the OKC Zoo. Daily fishing permits cost $3, while annual permits are available at $15.
