Lady Of The Silver Wheel

An ode to a pagan moon.
Black clouds gathered in the sky and it started to rain,
I watched crystal raindrops burst on my windowpane,
Splatters of indifference they break up and fall,
Opaque little visions of another kind of world.

I wade through the waters of sleeps deep, dead ocean,
On and on I trudge, bewitched by a notion,
To cadge a lift on the ferryman's paper man-o-war,
Across the seas of antiquity to the land of Evermore.

Lady of the Silver Wheel guide me with your light,
With the spirit of your vision may I take this astral flight,
To flee the world of shadows that I endure within my tomb,
To the aurora borealis and the safety of your womb.

Still I sail the astral waters in this paper man-o-war,
Six days I have to reach my goal and obtain my desire,
I pray you lend the magic I need to reach Evermore,
I follow on your beam of light, I follow on your oar.

To guide me with efficiency you utilize my thoughts,
I navigate the man-o-war towards the distant coast,
On and on through windswept waves I keep the balance straight,
Your spell dissolves my hindrance to strengthen my restraint.

Across the sky the lightning flashed, to thunder like a bear,
But held within your security, I carry on to Evermore,
Encircled by your silver light, I spy the shore with clarity,
Evermore, a compromise between life and death's polarity.

Wise old crone you've led me well, it's time for celebration,
I warm my bones beside the hearth of truth's manifestation,
You brought me home for winter to complete my journey's end,
To a reincarnated inception where my journey begins again.

Touched by silver blessing, I am reborn from your womb,
And I know that your protection will forever heal my wounds,
That you will banish all the demons from the deepest, darkest night,
May your waxing, waning candle forever shine its light.

Black clouds rush across the sky and rainbows fill my vision,
Sunbeams bring the world to life in all its infinite wisdom,
It rolls across the sky and then ascends towards the sea,
While the Lady of the Silver Wheel looks down and winks at me.
