Lady in My Mirror (Without Her)

A dark tale of misery and loneliness.
There's a lady in my mirror
Who waves goodbye to me,
And there's a rose on my pillow
That's withering away,
It turns to dust in the morning,
As yesterday decays,
And tomorrow's gone by then,
It's just another dreary day...
Without her!

And the moon mourns her tears
Amid the falling rain,
As the midnight shadows whisper
Their psalm to love's refrain,
As it hangs on its allusion
To a romantic setting sun,
But the sun's burned its last breath,
And the cold of night's begun...
Without her!

Reflections of a memory,
That holds on to a hope
That one day she'll come back to me,
Maybe then I'll cope,
But for now I have the mirror
In which I see her face
Reflecting back the memory
Of cold, lonely days...
Without her!

How I wish that she was here
To share the warm embrace,
That we once shared as lovers
Before she went away,
But alas, she left me cold and bare
Within my empty room,
She took my heart and soul with her,
Left my mind to face the gloom...
Without her!

I watch songbirds fly south for winter
Across the frozen skies,
They reflect in the same mirror
That reflects the tears I cry,
The solemn tears of heartache,
That want the world to end,
For I cannot go on living
In a world of such pretence...
Without her!

As I stare into the mirror,
To see her sorrowful eyes,
I wonder if she'll remember,
This very last goodbye,
This time it's me who's waving
As I stand upon the ledge,
I go flying with the songbirds
As I step off the edge...
Without her!
