Kirsten Dunst Enters Rehab

Dunst, 25, reportedly checked into the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah this week at the urging of some friends. A source said, "She’s not doing well. People were pushing her to go in there but there was no intervention…She has been partying hard for awhile and I’m sure the Heath Ledger thing put people over the edge." The source added, "She’s been crying a lot lately, a lot built up…Everybody hits that bottom where you feel [so] scared that that one heavy night of partying can really wake you up. It’s good she’s getting herself help."

Another source reportedly said, "She desperately needed help. She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she was acting really erratic. She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears." Dunst’s recent behavior at the Sundance Film Festival started the rumor mill going with reports that everything might not be that kosher in her life. A source said that she acted "erratic" during an event at the film festival and said they feared she was "on the verge of a breakdown." At the time Dunst’s rep issued a statement that the Spider-Man star was fine.

In April, Dunst admitted to trying different drugs and being a fan of marijuana. She is a frequent fixture on the party scene. A source claims that she never got over her break-up with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The two dated for about two years before breaking up amid rumors that her hard partying had become an issue for Gyllenhaal. They split in 2004. Dunst is not the first star to spend time at the Cirque Lodge. Mary-Kate Olson spent time at the facility in 2004 and Lindsay Lohan spent two months there last year. Recently Eva Mendes checked into the clinic to deal with undisclosed personal issues.
