Kiriel
Kiriel is tapped for blood often but what does the magic in her blood mean?
I sat on Cains bed meditating, he liked to feed off me every now and again as he loved the taste of my blood but he didn’t like to feed from me for too much as I was addictive. My neck always sealed it’s self the day after one of the perks of having so much magic in my blood.
I was the only one in Cain’s harem that he could rely on for blood all the time, all the rest needed some time to regenerate afterwards. I also was trained in combat as a body guard. I lent against the post of the bed and crossed my ankles leaning my head back against the wood.
I heard foot steps and turned my head towards the door where Cain appeared and trailing him there was Nyx his right hand man the one who he ruled the vampires with. I had met him once before and liked him. His bright blue eyes were in contrast to his black hair and his wings were folded at this point in time. He had seemed like a dark angel last time with the last rays of the sun filtering through his wings.
"Kiriel this is Nyx." Cain introduced us.
"We’ve met." Nyx said in a low voice.
"Good." Cain led the way through to a balcony and I walked beside Nyx behind him.
"How are you?" Nyx asked and I noticed his finger twitched as if he was nervous.
"Well, and you?" I asked.
"I’ve been better." He said and now that I looked properly at him he seemed a little drained.
"Looks like you’ve been in the wars." I said. "No offence."
"None taken, I had a run in with some sweepers." He said.
"Oh." The corridor ended with a balcony looking out over the lake and I found myself remembering the last time I had seen some sweepers, I still remembered the feeling of your life force being drained.
Cain look my wrist and stroked it feeling my pulse before sinking my fangs into it and taking a little blood from my stream. I felt somewhat dizzy and lent against the rail with my other hand.
"Why so little?" I asked.
"I’ve already fed, its Nyx who should probably have some of your blood actually." He looked at Nyx and then back at me "Would you mind?"
"No, it’s all right." I said and Cain smiled before leaving us.
We stood there for a minuet enjoying the sunset before Nyx turned to me.
"You don’t have too you know." He said, "I can find blood in other places."
"Some of the other girls have to give blood to anybody, I’ve got it easy," I said moving a step closer. "Anyway, it might make you feel better after your confrontation." He smiled at me putting an arm around my waist.
"Well the way Cain goes on about the magic in your blood it must have healing properties."
"It might, I haven’t come of age yet so I don’t know if I’m a mage or not." He put both hands on my hips and lifted me up so I was sat on the rail. He was tall so I was now on the same level as him. With one arm around me he swept my straight black hair off my neck and lightly touched my neck with his fangs causing two dots of blood to well up which he licked off.
"God Cain wasn’t lying." He said drawing back. "You have the richest blood I’ve ever tasted."
"In what way?" I asked "Cain’s never told me."
"It’s the magic but it’s also your spirit, it’s so strong it must seep into your blood. Cains been feeding off you so that’s been diluted but I can’t imagine what it would have been like the first time he tasted you."
"He collapsed." Nyx smiled
"I would have liked to see that." He said.
"I bet."
"How long does it take for you to regenerate." He asked.
"A day or two." I replied.
"Really? That’s amazing." He traced the place where he had just broken my skin and found that it had already healed.
"You heal faster than I do, I’m jealous." I laughed and he pulled me closer to him.
"Now I really don’t want to drink from you." He said with a smile. "It’s such a hard life."
"I Know." I said with a dramatic sigh. He put one hand behind my neck and finally bit into my neck.
I felt him slowly suck out my blood until I was half unconscious. Then he stopped picking me up and carrying me back to Cains room where whoever was on duty would collect me.
Half unconscious or not I felt him trace the two holes in my neck before he left.
