Heyy Killer's Kiss lovers! I'm soooo sorry for the wait. I was in Arizona, Sacramento, and Cambria so I didn't get to write much... but here's Chapter 9 for all of you! Please comment!!! =)
Chapter 9
"Ok Saran, so where are we headed?" I asked. "Ok so, we have to go right then left then right again then left then left then left and straight then go through a huge stretch then we turn left from there and then right then left again then there we are!!" she said. All this came so fast it was a blur. Alex and I stared at her with confused faces. "What?" Alex asked with a mixture of confusion and frustration in his tone. Saran rolled her eyes and said, "Just follow me," with apparent frustration. We started to walk and almost every time we would walk by a store Alex begged to go inside. The only store we actually let him go in was Active.
Saran and I waited outside for him while he was shopping. We sat on the brick wall that separated the street from the beach. Once we saw Alex come back with his two bags full of stuff we started to walk again. About thirty minutes passed and we finally arrived at the Sandy Crab. I smiled and sighed in relief.
We walked inside to see our friends already sitting at the big corner booth. Michael saw us and waved us over. He hesitated when he saw Alex though. We walked over to them and sat down. "Hey Charlie, It's good to see that you're doing ok!" Michael said with a playful punch. "Thanks, Michael it's great to you again," I said. That was a half lie though. I wasn't really a big fan of Michael. I mean he's nice and all that but he can be a real handful. "Hey Charles!" Audrey said. "Hey Audrey, now you sound like Tony!" I told her. He looked down shyly.
"Hey Charlie," Naomi and Lawrence said without taking their eyes off the menu. "Hey," I said. "Saran where's your boyfriend?" I whispered. "Oh he'll be here soon, I promise," she said. Alex cleared his throat. I gave him a look that said 'Shut up, I didn't forget about you!' "Hey you guys, this is my new friend I met at the hospital, his name is Alex," I said. "Hey Alex," they all said at the same time. He nodded his head and sat down next to me.
I grabbed my menu and scrolled through it. When I was going to ask Saran what she was going to get I saw this boy sitting next to her. He had skater hair, much like Alex's but a deep shade of brown, emerald green eyes, and looked very tall considering his head was about 5 inches above Saran's. I stared confusedly into his eyes until I finally got his attention. He stared at me hard and cold before I broke the stare and finally asked Saran, "Is he your boyfriend Saran?" "Yes, he's my boyfriend," she said with a smile. I looked back at him to see that he was still staring at me coldly. "Well can you PLEASE tell him to stop staring at me... it's kind of scaring me," I said with a small cringe.
"Jason, stop staring at Charlie!" she said. "Charlie? Isn't that a guy name?" he asked with a whole lot of attitude. 'I can already tell we are going to have problems,' I thought narrowing my eyes at him. "Actually, Jason, Charlie is a nickname for Charlotte," I said to him with the same amount of attitude. "Well ok then, little Miss Ray of sunshine," he said. I was about to tell him off when the waitress came.
"Hello, I'm Susana and I will be serving you today, may I start you all off with drinks?" she asked politely. Alex started since he was at the end. "I'll take a diet coke please," he said. It was my turn next so I just ordered pink lemonade. I also got a nudge on the ribs and a whisper in my ear saying, "You're such a kid!" from Alex. Audrey, Lawrence, Michael, Naomi, Saran, and Jason all got their drinks.
Once we got them the people began to chatter. I looked at Alex who was still staring at the menu. I looked to my right where Audrey was sitting. She was talking to Lawrence and texting his friend Christopher at the same time. I glanced around the table and stopped at Jason. He looked up at me as if he sensed my glance and stared, once again, coldly.
The waitress came back and ordered our food. After we gave our orders I once again looked around the table. My friends our weirder than ever, Michael stuck a straw up his nose and everyone was laughing. I chuckled once and looked around the whole restaurant. My eyes stopped on a familiar face. Jake. 'Oh SHIT!!' I thought. I pulled Audrey's arm and she saw my alarmed face. We went to bathroom. "Ow, Charlie Stop you're hurting me! What's the matter?" she asked. "The matter is that Jake is here!! And he's not alone!" I said my voice rising to a piercing scream.
"Ok just calm down, nothing is going to happen, you moved on and he has a new girlfriend and you have a new boyfriend," she explained calmly. "Ok first of all, Alex is not my boyfriend.... Yet. And second of all YES! Something IS going to happen!" I yelled. "What are you talking about, Charlie? Nothing is going to happen! Just because Jake is here with another boy doesn't mean the end of the world," she said starting to get frustrated.
"For you it might not be, Audrey, but for me... well that's a completely different story," I said teeth clenched really getting frustrated that she had no clue what I was talking about. "Oh really, then what is going to happen?" she asked. I replied through clenched gritted teeth, "Listen and understand, girly, whenever I am with or near this boy something attacks me! I don't know what but something just comes out of nowhere and attacks me!" I screeched. A lady coming out of a stall and looked at me.
"Listen to me Charlie; nothing's going to happen to you ok? Just calm down and let it be," Audrey said. "Ugh ok fine. But if anything happens I blame you," I said to her. Her jaw dropped and before she could begin to argue I stepped out of the bathroom and went back to the booth.
Our food came after about ten minutes from coming from the bathroom. I poked at my eggs and glanced up at Jake every couple of minutes. Alex looked at me with a mouthful of bacon. "What's up Charlie?" he asked spitting out nibblets of bacon on me. I wiped them off and glared at him. He wiped his mouth and said sorry. "Nothing it's just that.... Nothing" I said worriedly looking at Jake. He turned as if he felt my eyes on him.
He looked confusedly and stood up. I quickly grabbed Alex's arm and put it around me and buried my face in his chest. I felt him flinch slightly but he also tightened his arm around me. I heard Jake greet everyone but me. I looked up at him to see an 'I need to talk to you alone face' staring me in the eye. I nodded slightly and looked up at Alex. He looked down at me and moved out of the booth. He held my hand and slowly, reluctantly let it go.
"Who is that boy?" was the first thing out of Jake's mouth as we went outside. "Who is that GIRL?" I asked back. "None of your business," he said. "Well Alex is none of your business either!" I said. He grabbed my arm and right then I remembered the time at school when he grabbed that same arm. I flinched instinctively and glared at him. "You can't still possibly be mad at me for that!" his voice started to rise.
"I am still mad at that, Jake. And I will always be! You hurt me inside and out and I'm done with that! I don't know what sick a twisted game you're playing with me but I'm done! I don't want to play anymore!" I yelled on the verge of tears. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said. And at that moment Alex walked out next to me. "What's going on?" he asked. Then I saw a shadow behind us. Not a normal shadow, a huge deformed shadow, getting ready to grab Alex. At that moment Jake pushed me out of the way but left Alex.
The tears started to run down instantly as I saw the thing slam Alex down on the concrete hard on his head. I looked at Jake and back at Alex. "A- Al- ALEX!" I yelled. That was the only thing I could barely get out of my mouth. I ran towards him and sat down next to the limp body.
"Charlie...." Was the last thing he said.
"Ok Saran, so where are we headed?" I asked. "Ok so, we have to go right then left then right again then left then left then left and straight then go through a huge stretch then we turn left from there and then right then left again then there we are!!" she said. All this came so fast it was a blur. Alex and I stared at her with confused faces. "What?" Alex asked with a mixture of confusion and frustration in his tone. Saran rolled her eyes and said, "Just follow me," with apparent frustration. We started to walk and almost every time we would walk by a store Alex begged to go inside. The only store we actually let him go in was Active.

Once we saw Alex come back with his two bags full of stuff we started to walk again. About thirty minutes passed and we finally arrived at the Sandy Crab. I smiled and sighed in relief.
We walked inside to see our friends already sitting at the big corner booth. Michael saw us and waved us over. He hesitated when he saw Alex though. We walked over to them and sat down. "Hey Charlie, It's good to see that you're doing ok!" Michael said with a playful punch. "Thanks, Michael it's great to you again," I said. That was a half lie though. I wasn't really a big fan of Michael. I mean he's nice and all that but he can be a real handful. "Hey Charles!" Audrey said. "Hey Audrey, now you sound like Tony!" I told her. He looked down shyly.
"Hey Charlie," Naomi and Lawrence said without taking their eyes off the menu. "Hey," I said. "Saran where's your boyfriend?" I whispered. "Oh he'll be here soon, I promise," she said. Alex cleared his throat. I gave him a look that said 'Shut up, I didn't forget about you!' "Hey you guys, this is my new friend I met at the hospital, his name is Alex," I said. "Hey Alex," they all said at the same time. He nodded his head and sat down next to me.
I grabbed my menu and scrolled through it. When I was going to ask Saran what she was going to get I saw this boy sitting next to her. He had skater hair, much like Alex's but a deep shade of brown, emerald green eyes, and looked very tall considering his head was about 5 inches above Saran's. I stared confusedly into his eyes until I finally got his attention. He stared at me hard and cold before I broke the stare and finally asked Saran, "Is he your boyfriend Saran?" "Yes, he's my boyfriend," she said with a smile. I looked back at him to see that he was still staring at me coldly. "Well can you PLEASE tell him to stop staring at me... it's kind of scaring me," I said with a small cringe.
"Jason, stop staring at Charlie!" she said. "Charlie? Isn't that a guy name?" he asked with a whole lot of attitude. Once we got them the people began to chatter. I looked at Alex who was still staring at the menu. I looked to my right where Audrey was sitting. She was talking to Lawrence and texting his friend Christopher at the same time. I glanced around the table and stopped at Jason. He looked up at me as if he sensed my glance and stared, once again, coldly.
The waitress came back and ordered our food. After we gave our orders I once again looked around the table. My friends our weirder than ever, Michael stuck a straw up his nose and everyone was laughing. I chuckled once and looked around the whole restaurant. My eyes stopped on a familiar face. Jake. 'Oh SHIT!!' I thought. I pulled Audrey's arm and she saw my alarmed face. We went to bathroom. "Ow, Charlie Stop you're hurting me! What's the matter?" she asked. "The matter is that Jake is here!! And he's not alone!" I said my voice rising to a piercing scream.
"Ok just calm down, nothing is going to happen, you moved on and he has a new girlfriend and you have a new boyfriend," she explained calmly. "Ok first of all, Alex is not my boyfriend.... Yet. And second of all YES! Something IS going to happen!" I yelled. "What are you talking about, Charlie? Nothing is going to happen! Just because Jake is here with another boy doesn't mean the end of the world," she said starting to get frustrated.
"For you it might not be, Audrey, but for me... well that's a completely different story," I said teeth clenched really getting frustrated that she had no clue what I was talking about. "Oh really, then what is going to happen?" she asked. I replied through clenched gritted teeth, "Listen and understand, girly, whenever I am with or near this boy something attacks me! I don't know what but something just comes out of nowhere and attacks me!" I screeched. A lady coming out of a stall and looked at me.
"Listen to me Charlie; nothing's going to happen to you ok? Just calm down and let it be," Audrey said. "Ugh ok fine. But if anything happens I blame you," I said to her. Her jaw dropped and before she could begin to argue I stepped out of the bathroom and went back to the booth.
Our food came after about ten minutes from coming from the bathroom. I poked at my eggs and glanced up at Jake every couple of minutes. Alex looked at me with a mouthful of bacon. "What's up Charlie?" he asked spitting out nibblets of bacon on me. I wiped them off and glared at him. He wiped his mouth and said sorry. "Nothing it's just that.... Nothing" I said worriedly looking at Jake. He turned as if he felt my eyes on him.
He looked confusedly and stood up. I quickly grabbed Alex's arm and put it around me and buried my face in his chest. I felt him flinch slightly but he also tightened his arm around me. I heard Jake greet everyone but me. I looked up at him to see an 'I need to talk to you alone face' staring me in the eye. I nodded slightly and looked up at Alex. He looked down at me and moved out of the booth. He held my hand and slowly, reluctantly let it go.
"Who is that boy?" was the first thing out of Jake's mouth as we went outside. "Who is that GIRL?" I asked back. "None of your business," he said. "Well Alex is none of your business either!" I said. He grabbed my arm and right then I remembered the time at school when he grabbed that same arm. I flinched instinctively and glared at him. "You can't still possibly be mad at me for that!" his voice started to rise.
"I am still mad at that, Jake. And I will always be! You hurt me inside and out and I'm done with that! I don't know what sick a twisted game you're playing with me but I'm done! I don't want to play anymore!" I yelled on the verge of tears. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said. And at that moment Alex walked out next to me. "What's going on?" he asked. Then I saw a shadow behind us. Not a normal shadow, a huge deformed shadow, getting ready to grab Alex. At that moment Jake pushed me out of the way but left Alex.
The tears started to run down instantly as I saw the thing slam Alex down on the concrete hard on his head. I looked at Jake and back at Alex. "A- Al- ALEX!" I yelled. That was the only thing I could barely get out of my mouth. I ran towards him and sat down next to the limp body.
"Charlie...." Was the last thing he said.
