Killer Convicted in Harry Potter Murder Case

The man who stabbed and killed Rob Knox, a young British actor who played a small role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, was convicted of murder today in a British court.
Rob Knox' life was cut tragically short in May of 2008 when he stepped in between his younger brother and two men who were threatening him. One of the men had two knives and he eventually stabbed and killed Knox, an accomplished young actor who had just completed filming a small role in the upcoming Harry Potter film.

The man convicted of murder in the case is Karl Norman Bishop, a 22-year-old Londoner who was apparently engaged in some sort of altercation with Jamie Knox, Rob's younger brother, when the murder took place.

Knox had been acting on British television and films since age 11 and his career appeared to be heading in the right direction with his small role as Marcus Belby in the Harry Potter film. The film has not yet been released, but is expected to hit theaters later this summer.

As expected, his family is devastated and is left with only the memories of him and what his life and career may have been. It is unclear at this point what sentence will be handed down for Karl Bishop, although one would expect the punishment to be severe.
